mmr clarification

Hello,

I personally dont know if this is the right sub-forum to ask.

I would like to ask someone to make me understand what i see here.

So here is the thing

First game, ended with +3 for the winning team:

Mmr Team 1)
- 2247
- 1627
- 2233

Mmr Team 2)
- 1826
- 1549
- 1550

Second Game, ended with +5 for the winning team:

Mmr Team 1)
- 2257
- 1660
- 2243

Mmr Team 2)
- 1498
- 1818
- 1548

How is this even possible? In between these two games, the lower mmr team didnt faced anyone, same for the high mmr team?

The MMR system is out of wack. I seen people who've been 2.4k+ soloq in the past struggling to get out of the 1.8-1.9k hell this season.

I get this issue even myself, i've been always 2.2 mmr and atm struggle 1900 mmr.

But to be honest, i would like an answer by someone of the staff, cause this is mathematically impossible to happen, so something must be really broken OR something that i cant understand and would like to do.

I'm not seeing anything wrong with your examples.
From my point of view, you're pointing out a team with approximately 2240 mmr, winning +3 to +5 against a team with default 1500mmr.
Which totally makes sense.

You might also want to double check the match history.
These games happened between 8am and 9am (morning). Both these teams were the only ones in queue.

I prolly didnt explained propery, im not talking about the teams facing each other, which is normal if they are the only two teams in que.

I'm tryng to understand how does during the first game where the MMR difference is less, they got +3, while in the second case, with "winning" team having more mmr, while the loosing team has less mmr then before, they got 5.

If in the first game the overall mmr is :

Team 1) 2035 mmr (total divided by 3)
Team 2) 1641

Winning Team: +3

Second game:
Team 1) 2050 mmr
Team 2) 1620 mmr
Winning Team: +5

That's my question, technically the more mmr gap there is, the less the higher mmr win and , and more if they loose. In these two examples, is looks the opposite

My first post isnt about accusing/flaming that team (which is obvious, if you check their recent history and do an easy search around the teams they are facing) , is just about try to understand a mechanic that from the example above seems the opposite.

That's not exactly how the mmr is calculated currently.
In this case, with the first game you're mentioning, 2247, 2233 and 1627 are the team members individual mmr.
The third member's 1627mmr is ignored as it is too far away from the two other team members mmr.
2240mmr then becomes the team mmr for the arena queue.

In the same opposite way, the team they faced used to have a slightly lower mmr.
They played with an another partner afterwards and his mmr was likely close enough to the rest of the team to count for the arena queue.
Which is why +5 was awarded to the winning team in that particular second game.

This mmr calculation was thought of to avoid mmr abuse, which used to be a thing in the past.
Back then you could have just invited a default 1500mmr player in a very high rated team, in order to get fast queues against lower rated teams.
