Warrior Protection on Raids

Hello friends,

I would like to play as a Prot Warrior and do all the raids, including ICC 25-man heroic, but I’ve heard some people say that it’s not worth playing as a Prot Warrior.

So, I’d like to clear this up once and for all with you here on the forum—Is playing a Prot Warrior really bad on this server? Does this mean it’s not possible to complete, for example, ICC 25-man Heroic as a Warrior tank?

If it’s really not worth it, is this an issue with the expansion itself?

It is perfectly possible and doable.
Problem is that warrors in some aspects are objectively worse than other tanks, so the result is what it is. It has lowest passive dmg reduction, does not have higher health pool like druids and does not have reduction on hits that take hp under 35% like DK/pala.

Prot Warrior is a bit weaker in some fights, a bit stronger on others, but imho its definitely one of the hardest tanks to play it properly due to its highly proactive playstyle.

You can clear whatever content in any competent raid, but due to warmane culture you will struggle a lot to find spots to raid, both PUGs and guild runs. If you can manage the social drawback that comes with the spec, go for it, its a game by the end of the day and you should spend your time playing whatever you enjoy.
