Change in "ninja" rules

Hello all, I realize this may be a lost cause but I'll try it anyway. To give you a bit of background:

I enjoy random dungeons and raids, never been much of a questing-levelling kinda guy. On Warmane, I play mostly on Icecrown realm. Server full of people but RDF is almost non existent before 70 lvl. Above 70 it only really works if you're a tank. If you join the queue as tank, you get instant invite 95% of the time. If you don't, you usually wait. Sometimes tens of minutes at a time. This has actually led me to only playing tank-able characters. I have many times seen people arguing with each other and threatening to report each other etc, due to rolling for items that do not belong to the spec they're currently playing. However, this means that for a paladin for example, you cannot really build a character other than a tank. Simply because if you don't join as tank, you dont go to a dungeon and if you join as tank, you're not allowed to need-roll non tanking items. This in my estimation has led to the global lack of tanks joining RDF. I can somewhat understand the motivation behind the rule but I actually think it is counter productive. By disallowing need-roll of items for your other spec (I specifically do not say off-spec because you might be playing your offspec at the time you roll), you lower the amount of dungeons that people can actually play through but you do not lower the amount of people actually wanting items. You're not lowering demand of items but you do significantly lower the supply of items - by discouraging tanks from joining as tanks.

Hope I made my point clear. I am certain there will be people here misreading what I am saying and implying I want to be a ninja or something - but that is simply not the case. I want people to play and to have fun. I also want them to be able to progress their characters at a reasonable pace without having to donate ;-). More RDF=more opportunities and items for everyone. Lack of tanks or heals runs counter to that. And the mere fact that every character in game is able to have a DPS spec but only some can have heal or tank specs leads to the situation described above.

So I would propose we allow off-spec need-rolling. Thoughts?

Lets ignore the fact that situation you want is exactly the reason why these rules were implemented.

Lay down concrete and specific, enforceable rules.

And how do you get more tanks if you spit on them and allow everyone to roll on their loot, i don't get that part.

Nobody would never roll on tank gear /s

Easy profit when you make a druid or a paladin with enchanting and need rolling every loot they can get.

The suggestion wouldn't make ninja rules any better, on contrary, as stated by angrylol already, it's a step back to what it used to be.

You seem to remember times where the rules were as I suggest. How was the RDF queuing back then?

Queues were the same, always lacking a tank or healer, DPS having sometimes absurd wait times. Nothing changed with queue times when ninja rules were implemented.

It did change RDF etiquette for better.
Generally people did roll greed/DE on trash items they didn't need. BoE's were mostly need rolled by all. The amount of people need rolling on greens and whatnot was relatively high. Usually problems arose when somebody did OS need when somebody else needed MS, as to be expected, vulgar word exchange occurred after. Stealing items from tanks or heals usually meant the thief often dying to lack of taunts or heals, or RDF progress would stop if tank/heal would refuse to play until item was given to them. People who needed all items usually got a swift quick too.
Those problems still exists, but on much smaller scale..

I think queue times on Onyxia have something to do with the fact that people make pre-made groups befor queuing so they can check people's gear on armory instead of getting grouped with random clowns in terrible gear so it has nothing to with people not being able to ninja. Dungeons in TBC aren't complete faceroll like in WotLK, especially heroics so queuing alone only to get grouped with trash players in terrible comp without a shaman is like asking for wipes and wasting time on purpose. I always queue as AT LEAST 3/5 or 4/5 pre-made group because otherwise it's gona be bad experience and I advice everyone to do the same on Onyxia.
