Making Gold

I am a new player, Icecrown realm. Old one if you keep in mind i played years ago when server was called Molten WoW.
Anyway, got back at it and i have a level 80 druid with basic leatherworking and tailoring.

Been leveling a shaman and im getting close to level 80 and i did around 3000 gold between my shaman and the little proffesion selling on druid. But flying in Northrend costs me 1000g. Must buy dual talent specialisation on shaman. Not to mention 5000g for artisan riding (to fly faster mounts in Northrend)
Outside of that there is the gearing also at level 80 where items wich bind on equip are expensive.

I have around 100 votes and those are usefull to gear up a bit when reaching level 80.

QUESTION IS:
1. Is there a way to make gold with vote points ? Like getting an item and selling it in the game maybe ? Using proffesions seems slow but not sure when i get to mine titanite ore if those will bring me profit needed to gear my character
2. Someome said they trade 75k gold for 20 coins.. How is that done ? Just with trust or is there a system on the website to make it safe against people that might try trick and not do their part of the deal ? And... is it worth it ? Im kinda tempted to get 20 coins for gold just to get into the game easier without so much pain.

You can't make gold out of point shop items anymore.

Premium members (donated at least once) have access to trade section. There you can buy & sell in-game items using coins as currency.
Gold per coin in trade should be on rise, as we are nearing annual gold squish where ALL gold is halved. It's expected to happen February/March, due to this people are trying to convert the gold into other items (primos, gems, other trade goods, and coins). Also item prices will increase too. That's something you should consider if you're thinking of donating and then buying gold from trade. The coins are locked for 72 hours when you donate (can only be used for store items during those 72 hours) after that time expires, they're free to be used how you see fit.

Do understand that Artisan Riding, costly BoE's, and dual spec are luxuries. They aren't necessary things you need to get, they're nice to have, but you can live without them for a long time. If a riding trainer belongs to a reputation faction, upgrading your reputation with the said faction drops the cost of riding training. Cold Weather Flying is always 1K though.

Donating right now for gold might not be the best thing considering there is a squish coming soon. also from coins you could get 1 bis item for your character, wich could turn more valuable than gold spent on BoEs.

Artisan Riding has luxury price tag, but i wont conaider it a luxury since it makes gameplay more smooth. And it is mandatory if you farm gold since it speeds up whole process.

Shiny mounts or ones with 310% speed are a luxury.
