I wanna understand the mind of a PvP camper

I've been ganked a few times, and in most of the times where it's griefing, I actually logged onto a toon on the other faction and tried to gague what they're thinking about. When I do it they think I'm mad, but I'm not, I genuinely don't care about the ganking, but I'm more interested to know what's going on in their head.

I want to understand why players who do this to lowbies or whatever get a laughing rush out of it. Like I've seen people literally type in all caps "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAH" or things of that nature. In fact the last guy I spoke with, I was actually surprised he not only spoke good english this time, but actually held the conversation.

And I don't mean in only this game, but in all other games as well, like I've had teamates in DOTA 2 for example, that we're steam rolling the enemy and it's like this is the best moment they ever had in their life. And I'm just thinking like bro it's just a game calm down. But no these people go out of their way to even harass the enemy team I'm like yo dawg chill.

So my question to you guys I guess is why do you think they are like this? Or if you are a person like this, why do you get a rush like that out of it?

I reasoned that the only reason these guys are like this is because they have mental issues, or they just don't win in real life and have to take the only form of winning by ruining other people's gameplay.

Now I am not talking about the people who for example kill a person 2-3 times and leave, I'm more specifically talking about the guys who camp nonstop specifically.

maybe they love seeing ambush crit numbers, maybe they love 1 shotting players, maybe they want to ensure the tradition, maybe they expect someone crying on forum, thats just how they enjoy the game.
and yes, its just a game, taking ganking activity in a pvp realm too personally isnt necessary. expecting pve experience on a pvp realm is delusional imo respectfully.

dont get me wrong, i think ganking lowbies is stupid. as stupid as the lowbies who keep on doing the same thing at the same zone knowing theres a ganker. in fact, they deserve each other.
and im not talking about ganker whos like having a special vendetta against u where they follow you everywhere to every map across the world map every day 24/7, that one deserves a ban.

The majority of players are doing pve content though, not pvp, I don't know where you are getting this idea that there's no pve in warmane.

i didnt say theres no pve in warmane, idk if u know this already but, wow has these realm models like pvp, pve, rppvp, etc whatever.
and i maybe wrong but people complain about ganking is because they dont want to be ganked. and i assume if people dont want to be ganked mean they expect an experience where ganking doesnt exist, which is a pve realm kind of server.

I wasn't complaining about gankers you took that far out of context, I was just trying to gague a campers mindset.

Also I think your argument is pretty dishonest when warmane is literally the only server of its kind, no other realm is as popular or populated which is why even people who mainly pve go to it.

They kill because they can, they camp because you allow them to camp you. It's something that the game itself allows to happen, and it's not against rules.

You say gankers/campers don't win in life or they have mental issues, are you sure you're not just trying to find an irrational justification as to why they do it?
Are you trying to suggest something "funny" when you say gankers you whisper to don't usually know English, or strike up conversation like a proper noble or something? Are you trying to subtly hint that certain people are the evil being no matter where they go?

If it's "just a game", why be so hang up on few ganks?

this is where u missunderstand my point, i think.
u see, if u go to character selection, then click on change realm, then hover your cursor on "Type", it will show u the types/models of wow realms/server.

No, actually I was reading about it online after I made the OP, and it turns out my latter reasoning is correct, in that they actually have an inferiority complex in real life. The stuff psychologists mentioned about it is that they’ve got no real control in the world, so they take their frustrations out in the only place they feel safe doing it. The last guy I spoke with even went as far as telling me that I cannot reason with him because he is insane psychologically.

Thank you for re-stating the obvious. But camping someone over and over again isn't ganking, there's something else going on beyond that. I just wanted to understand it.

Basically it just comes down to the fact that they have no control in real life and are under an illusion by the sense of power in a fictional game. That's all.

depends on how the camping happens tho, if the camping happens cz the lowbies keep coming to the same zone or doing the same thing then theres nothing beyond it. but if the lowbies avoid that zone and go to other any other map and the ganker follows, then yeah thats something else. but both camping case is done by ganking.
they do it for many reasons obviously, now if u just want a plain answer that should do it right?
i maybe wrong but the way u want to "understand" why they do it seems lean toward complaining or just mad upset of what they do.

Yet it somehow was mentioned in your OP that most of them don't communicate in a certain way. Weird point to bring up. Could've just said most of them don't bother with proper communication, or something like that.

Yeah, don't think there's much to discuss if you in your head think all the gankers out there have some form of mental issue, or "have no control in real life."

You're yourself under an illusion if you think good people aren't capable of doing bad things on occasion. Especially when it happens in a game with no real harm done to other person.

You got ganked, get over it like a normal mentally healthy person. Should I now boldly claim all these "I got ganked" crying threads are made by people who love to be the victims whenever they can for attention, even if just for a minute? Talk about having no power in real life. Clinging to bad experiences doesn't sound mentally stable to me.

I'll try giving you an answer that doesn't boil down to "It's a PvP server HuRrDUrr":

It's an old, well organised server with all the boredom that comes with it - factions are skewed in regards to their PvP affinty, a lot of battlegrounds are won before they're played if you know the names of the pvp scene and who you're up against.
It's a lot of hit and miss and I'd rather not get into the specifics of WHY that is - more eloquent people than me have tried to have this discussion, it usually gets dismissed. I'm just tired by now.

In short: It's all so damn predictable and boring at this point.

That's where you come in. If I gank you for half an hour, who knows what will happen?
Maybe you will log over and flame. Maybe you have friends to fight me, so I can get friends and so on - emergent gameplay, if you're familiar with the term.
Until one side brings a whole raid, which they absolutely will if you're in a pvp guild, some multiboxer destroys said emergent gameplay, or you log out frustrated, everything about this is more fun than ANOTHER RBG, no matter if WSG, a farm-AV or Wintergrasp.

TL;DR: PvP on Warmane is stale, has been for years now, and ganking you promises more entertainment, whichever way it goes, than playing duel N°5348 or another BG.
