Logic, where are you? Ninjas vs administration.

Last ID I was in a pug ICC 25 (Icecrown server) where the raid leader stole DBW and 2 marks. There was no rolling, no talking, he just left with the items. Offline and gone. Few people were sending screenshots, including me, and as usual (of my experience here) the GM's replay that it's not enough evidence. Sometimes I start to think it's a copy-paste policy.
Later I poke that ninja in game and he even admitted that he stole the items and didn't get banned, laughing in the end. I send the screenshot of that conversation too and guess what. Still not enough evidence. Copy-paste and onto another ticket.

Searching through forum of Warmane and Redit I have discovered that even if a ninja is cougth, the GM's simply send him on 'a vaccation' (ban for a while) and LET HIM KEEP THE STOLEN ITEMS. Doesn anyone else also find it hilarious?

One more time. IF YOU STEAL ANY ITEMS HERE = YOU ARE ALLOWED TO KEEP IT. You just have to wait for the ban time to pass.
Please tell me. What logic is behind this? What are GM's for in this server (if not for helping players)? Finally, HOW DO I PROVE A NINJA LOOTING IF A RAID LEADER INTENTIONALLY GOES OFFLINE WITH THE ITEMS? Or maby this is the very way to get your items in the quickes, easiest possible way?
I do not encourage people to do so. I am simply thirsty for an answer.

Now I'm waiting for someone obnoxious to deny all of what I have said and experienced. I am ready for it and I know what to do to move it forward. Quite few more people are waiting with me.

I totally get where you're coming from — it sucks to put time and effort into a raid just to have the loot stolen by someone hiding behind anonymity.

But sadly, this kind of thing will always happen in open pugs, especially on a private server where real accountability is hard to enforce. The truth is: the only real protection against ninja looting is raiding with people you trust.

If you're serious about playing ICC or other endgame content, I'd strongly recommend finding a friendly guild with honest people and a solid reputation. A group where loot rules are clear, respected, and enforced by social trust — not just system logs.

Behind a character name, people feel bold to act selfishly. But in a good guild, reputation matters. If someone messes up, the consequences are social — they lose access to raids, trust, and the respect of the community.

It’s not a perfect solution, but in my experience, it’s the only one that consistently works on Warmane.

Thank you for trying to cheer me up but it is not about the feelings but about a potentially rigged system. It looks there is a way to steal and avoid getting the consequences. Usually it is enough to follow the $$ to find the real reason.

I already mentioned in another thread that for some items such as DBW, as long as you are not a repeat offender, it almost makes sense to ninja them.

I totally understand the frustration — losing a BiS item like DBW without any roll or communication would drive anyone mad.

That said, I think it’s important to look at the situation from a technical and administrative perspective too.

Having GMs delete stolen items from a player’s inventory sounds ideal in theory, but in practice it’s incredibly resource-intensive. It would require:

Full investigation of raid logs,

Confirmation from multiple sources,

Manual action to remove the item (which might already be equipped, traded, or even vendored),

And a system to avoid punishing innocent players due to misunderstandings or false claims.

It’s not that the system is “rigged” — it’s more that the administrative effort outweighs what’s realistically manageable on a large private server.

Also, while it feels unfair that a ninja looter might keep the item after a short ban, permanently banning someone on the first offense would be disproportionate, especially if there’s no clear pattern of abuse. A temporary ban is likely the only realistic action unless someone is a repeat offender with clear evidence.

At the end of the day, open pugs are a gamble, and the best solution is still social — raid with people or guilds that have a reputation for fairness. It’s not perfect, but it’s what we have.

Let’s keep pressing for improvements, sure — but also keep in mind the limitations of running moderation on a private server at this scale.

There are private servers where restoring a lost item or deleting a stolen one is a regular procedure to apply. I have experienced, witnessed that. So it is the mather of policy and will.

Where are GM's? Are you an under cover GM? If not, thank you for your opinion and let us wait till the GM's address it.

Look, there’s no secret conspiracy here. The real reason ninjas sometimes get away with it is simple:
Deleting items from someone’s inventory is a massive manual effort. Logs, confirmations, potential trades — it’s a mess. Doing that for every weekly ICC pug disaster would burn out the entire GM team by Friday.

And yeah, a perma-ban sounds nice, but for a first offense? Probably overkill. A short ban is likely the only practical response unless it’s clearly repeat behavior.

No one’s defending ninja looting — it sucks. But expecting the GM team to play WoW Forensics Unit after every loot drama isn’t realistic on a big private server.

You say there is no conspiracy here. I love the word "conspiracy" because it is the easiest way to put in doubt someones sanity.
This is an attack in 'white gloves', an attempt to discard my point and it is your second time you do so. This is manipulation = a form of aggression.
Before you have accused me indirectly of being "frustrated and mad".
By doing all of this you are defending a guy who stole the items which makes you his partner in crime.

It looks suspicious too me that you are defending the imperfect system with so much devotion. Interesting.

No, I have never ninja any item and I am never going to do so. Please stop putting the tension on me as if I was the thief. This is simply not true and, I repeat - what you are doing is a manipulation.

No GM has address the thread yet. Please, let's wait patiently wait for them to join the topic. All in all, they are the only ones who can do something about it and help us all.
