Proper evidence for ninja looting in raids?

Hi,

so i joined a pug raid this evening, that ended with the raid leader simply embezzling an heroic item. they simply didn't roll it, after being called out several times, they just ended the raid. naturally, i was only able to screenshot the conversation at the end of the raid, and them simply leaving the raid. i opened a ticket of course, but i already know what the answer will be - there's no hard evidence.

am i supposed to screenshot the loot after every boss, so the raid leaders won't be able to just steal and get away with it? what are you supposed to do in a case like this?

But that just means a cunning ninja looter can easily do his business in a raid. Nobody screenshots all that stuff long before anything has happened. It's frustrating.

Not really. More people than you'd guess screenshot at least the start of a raid + any inconsistencies with loot at any given point due to being victim to ninja looting in the past.

You should let it become a habit to document "important" pug raids if you intend to pug for extended periods of time. Ofc it's better to simply join a decent guild/have a stable group of players to raid with. Ninjaing is much less of an issue when you know who you raid with.

Screenshotting the start of the raid + the loot after every boss is not enough. There's ways to bypass this.

I recently had this case, where the loot timer "expired" and the loot master got to keep the item. Had screenshotted the start of the raid, who the lootmaster was during the boss and when he looted the item. Was told they do not offer support in such cases.
You can try recording the whole run + the discord conversations, but your safest bet would be joining a guild and hoping they're nice people.

What Blind and Sprawt said is what you have to do if you find yourself in that situation.
However, it must also be said that despite the bans, this bad habit is widespread.

It seems that some players don't fear them at all.

From the end of the post that was linked over a week ago:

"GMs should NOT be your shield against ninjas. Please bear in mind that this will not stop all ninjas and it's your best intent to take measures yourself and avoid suspicious raids, especially when leaders refuse to explain looting rules."

Ofc they don't.

Some people play 1 character per account in the case they get banned.
Name and faction changes are available to all, so you can get your item(s) and hide from other players.
Hard to prove ninja methods are there too, and our PoV screenshots/videos don't cover everything.

If this is the situation, then the time has come to ban and delete the account, without the possibility of any appeal.

If you feel that strongly about something even retail didn't take action against, sure, you can send a ticket asking a GM to do that you your account.

Every time I raid I record the entire thing with OBS. That way I don't have to wonder whether I should screenshot something or not, or regret not having screenshotted something.

I was just saying that banning and deleting accounts wouldn't be a bad idea, even if it's a thing related to dungeons.
