Please be kind to new/learning player
Hello everyone,
First, I want to clarify that this message is not directed at any specific individual.
When you notice a player doing slightly lower DPS than expected (as shown by Recount or similar addons), I kindly ask that we respond with a bit more understanding. Unless someone is truly inactive or not participating at all, I don’t see a good reason to immediately remove them from a group. Most of us are here to learn, improve, and—above all—have fun.
Earlier today, I was removed from a levelling dungeon without any warning or conversation, simply because my DPS was slightly lower than the tank’s. Experiences like this can feel discouraging and make group content far less enjoyable. Constantly worrying about DPS meters can turn what should be a cooperative experience into a stressful competition, which takes away from the spirit of the game.
Instead of kicking a player right away, may I suggest starting a conversation? Asking about their rotation, gear score, or experience level can provide helpful context and open the door to constructive feedback. While guides and resources are available online, one of the things that truly makes an MMORPG special is a supportive, collaborative, and communicative community—learning from one another and helping each other improve.
Let’s also remember that every skilled player was once new. We all started somewhere.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and for helping keep the community welcoming and enjoyable for everyone.
