Blackrock is ruining the PvP experience for Horde Onyxia players.

Ever since WotLK started on Onyxia, I have increasingly seen a majority of Blackrock players being matched to the Alliance side in Battlegrounds and I play battlegrounds almost daily. The problem is that there seem to be far more Alliance players from Blackrock than Horde players. As a Horde player, the chance of losing a Battleground match feels to be around 90%.

I do not play on Blackrock and I do not know their server rules, but from what I have heard, they are able to gear up for PvP much faster than players from Onyxia. This gives them a strong advantage compared to Onyxia players.

A possible solution would be to have murk mode activated by default for Blackrock players so they are distributed more evenly between the Horde and Alliance teams in Battlegrounds. If this is already the case, then Onyxia players should also have the option to enable murk mode.

These seem like simple solutions to a major problem in Battlegrounds and I don't understand why this obvious problem hasn't been considered by the Warmane Staff from the beginning.

I think blackrock has forced merc mode on for their players so whichever faction on Onyxia lacks players they are filled with blackrockers

Onyxia is like almost 60% Horde. Blackrock is more than 60% Alliance. So by default numbers are going to be a bit skewed due to, and this is just how I remember merc mode working, merc mode only fills empty spots and doesn't just randomize by default.

Blackrock has merc mode on anyways. Your issue is just caused by much more horde players being on your server and you can't really solve the issue without causing other issues.

Then the Warmane Devs should modify Merc Mode, so the distribution of Blackrock players is evened out in both battleground teams. It is a simple solution for a big problem. Playing battleground as a Horde character is total cancer since a few weeks.

Your simple solution doesn't work because it does not address the issue of having more horde players - which probably opted out of merc mode to begin with.

If you have 600 hordies and 400 allies playing pvp on ony you'll have to somehow conjure 200 allies to fill spots. You could either force merc mode on ony, which will cause other issues again, or live with having blackrock players fill spots.

Lordaeron has the same issues for years and it's either this or battlegrounds are even worse.

Of course Merc Mode needs to be forced on for both Realms to work to get the best results. That way the system has the best options to distribute all players fairly among the teams. Even better would be to consider the PvP Gear, for example the amount of resilience of each character to matchmake all players properly.

So here's what you aren't understanding. It does not matter how many Blackrock players are on Alliance or Horde. It doesn't matter how they are matched.

That's because contrary to whatever you think you heard, Onyxia was given the greater advantage. They still have the advantage.

Anything you see as a discrepancy is definitely a player issue. I will give it to you that players who even make toons on Blackrock or I guess Alliance in general are probably more serious about PvP. And I imagine many players on Onyxia are kinda clueless how to gear up in PvP.

I mean if it makes you feel better they did separate new players into their own bracket last year so we may see that again in the upcoming phases. We will also probably see a lot of changes in progression naturally as we hit Ulduar as well.

I don't really care that much personally. I've won a hundred games regardless on Horde and it's plenty sufficient to progress. I don't care much for this initial phase anyway. It doesn't get good until the gear gap gets established with end game gear being more difficult to obtain and all the super casual players get weeded out.

In the past few weeks, the Alliance battleground teams have nearly double the amount of Blackrock palyers in their teams compared to Horde teams and their winrate felt like 90%. I don't think that's a coincidence.

I agree about that Alliance and Blackrock players tend to be more serious about PvP. But I don't see how this gives Onyxia players an advantage. Blackrock players already start with basic PvP gear, while a part of Onyxia players go into the battlegrounds with their PvE gear.

Therefore Blackrock players have a bigger advantage in terms of gear and partly skill, like you mentioned, they are more serious about PvP. I also agree that it does not matter how many players playing a Horde or Alliance character, but only if Merc Mode is on.
This is why I suggested a matchmaking system that could consider e.g. resilience stats with forced Merc Mode to distribute players evenly.

So, I don't see how Onyxia players are in a greater advantage here. It would be great if they separate new players in their own bracket. Is there a way to see that somewhere on the Warmane website?

Admin have to put s5 gear in store, doing bg is the most boring and annoying thing you could ever experience with pve. Also 70% of player using bot in bg so its make the experience even worst. What the point playing on a private server and not being able to donate for gear???

Blackrock started late until Onyxia was established at level 80. They didn't have access to Savage Gladiator set either. Initially they started with junk gear. The effort to obtain gear is greater than it is for Onyxia at the current progression they are playing. Their gear only progresses when Onyxia has established at that stage. So an Onyxia player should be able to outpace a Blackrock player.

That's all that really matters. Anything to do with skill or whether Onyxia cares to play PvP is just part of the game. In theory you could get several guilds on Onyxia with serious PvP gamers that control all of battlegrounds. That is allowed. Large scale premades and graveyard camping is allowed. Alliance or Horde having better players at any time is allowed.

Once you understand that then you can see that things won't be changed to accommodate players even if their win rate is less than 50/50. In the original game you had to just get good to beat the other team. That is preserved here on Warmane.

Tbf, Onyxia Horde sucks in PVP. Everytime I go to BG or WG its just a cancer to my eyes, people only going zug zug even with green or pve set, even if you check the armory, you will see Onyxia doesnt have any arena teams almost in brackets of 2v2 or 3v3, only 5v5 and probably because black rock guys dont play it.

My guild is full pve and I training some boys to do pvp, but the difference in skill with seasoned players, its just too much and frustrating because you expect them to do something and then dont do it because of the lack of experience, unknowledge or they just zug zug tunnel vision; plus BR guys algo goes in premade into bg.

The best would be if Blackrocks stay on their own server. I'll be happy to wait 10min with Merc Mode for a Battleground to open with only Onyxia players, instead of getting matched with Blackrock kids, who have played nothing else in the last 10 years except WotLK PvP.
The skill and gear difference is just too big to ensure a fair matchmaking.
