sorry to the guy who said that was him in this thread. i just think its fun to go against a multiboxer who cant kill a resto druid. i have had my fair share who can nuke me and those who cant. it is always a fun challenge for me to see if i can take them on solo or not and survive. if i can that means 5-6 toons in that BG are focused on 1 person who they cant kill and it gives us the advantage in numbers and also slows them down in reacting to recovering a base or objective.

Funky pls just stahp. Everyone is complaining about the multiboxers that take the whole 40-man battleground, not those guys that play with 5 chars. You fought off a guy that uses a ****ing void walker ffs... He is not even an average skilled player.
And for the record you left a bg when we were fighting against a full multiboxer team that was spanking our asses in AV. (the multiboxers were the whole horde team if you don't understand what we are saying) If it multiboxing doesn't bother you, you could have stayed and tried to help, but instead you ran away.

Everybody knows multiboxers are generally pathetic players who would struggle without this advantage.

I've left private servers in the past for precisely this reason and if it becomes prevalent here I will do the same. If Warmane chooses to allow this kind of conduct (ruining the experience for a much larger portion of players) simply for short-term financial gain then its clear what must be done.

I see multiboxers here posting things like "Organise yourself and counter us."

COUNTER YOU? You're not a raid boss. You're a pathetic child who needs an enormous advantage to stand a chance in PvP. It's clear that any fair PvP you attempt will fail tremendously. The fact that you are allowed to compete in normal PvP activities while using multiple accounts at once kind of makes Warmane a laughing stock. On Retail such sights were rare, as maintaining multiple accounts was a costly endeavour. On Warmane it seems any kid can try it and shockingly there aren't safeguards in place to prevent it.

I have few questions.

Doesn't warmane have some sort of system where raid groups only face other raid groups? If yes, How are those people avoiding the system?

On another note: I have played BGs for about a month now on Lordaeron and haven't seen a single multiboxer there so far.


Some strategies that come to mind:

AoE

I'm guessing the best tactic against a huge group being multiboxed is to try to coordinate an attack against them and AoE them down. 1 tick of AoE seems to do around 1k of damage (on wotlk), so if you get half of your side to do that 1k of damage you might land a huge chunk of honor when killing the whole enemy raid. Obviously it's hard to coordinate such an attack with random players, but I've seen it happen on retail few times on a smaller scale. Multiboxing 10 shamans vs 10 randoms on the w.e. the ball game bg on retail is called.

I do believe that on warmane servers coordinating and countering such a multiboxer is possible. Why I believe that is because.. In that AV, everyone on your side, is hating to be there. That hate is channeled against that multiboxer. That hate can work as a bond between your raid. Everybody wants to kill that multiboxer. The bond of hate can be turned in to a coordinated attack.


Ninja

Another tactic against a multiboxer, if you don't want to try to coordinate with your team. Turn in to a ninja. Bear with me for a moment.. Multiboxers are staying in one location at a time. Go to whatever location they are currently not at and cap a tower. After capping the tower go stealth/shadowmeld/hide if you can and see if the multiboxer comes to defend. If they dont defend, awesome, a little bit of honor for you. If they do defend, let them defend, and as soon as they leave, cap it again. Spread the tactic in chat and state what tower you are going to be camping, ask others to ninja-camp the other towers.


Summoning ninja tactic

Another fun tactic: I'm not sure if this works. It used to work on retail back in the day (I'm guessing that was vanilla or tbc times)

You can jump in to both alliance and horde main base from the side, avoiding the main road, if the multiboxer is camping the bridge for example. Have a warlock + 1 jump up to the enemy base, go inside the enemy boss building and summon the whole raid there and try to ninja the enemy boss. But like I said, not sure if this works anymore, I mean it was like 10 years ago, cant remember if they "fixed" it.


Feed

Ofcourse you can also try to give them exactly what they want, feed them fast and be done with it. Either run in as soon as possible or encourage everyone to afk at the graveyard so the multiboxer can aoe your raid once every 30 seconds.


AFK

One of the best tactics is to afk out, ofcourse someone else will take your place and the multiboxer will get exactly what he wants, but at least you don't have to deal with him. Go do your dishes, go farm, go watch porn or something. 15min deserter + 15min queue is less than 1hour the AV is going to take, next bg most likely wont be against that multiboxer.

Now you will have continuesly alliance players leaving the AV and other alliance players queing for BG getting into this AV. This goes on and on until finaly the multiboxer has lamed his way into 500 kill inside the base. I'm not quite sure how your reply and quote go together. But ok.

When I said "1 hour the AV is going to take" I did mean that it would take that 1 hour, that long, ages, because of the multiboxer farmfest.

Well, I didn't really say anything against that in my reply, but now that you asked.. No. I don't see how it's ruining the experience for everyone. I believe you, if you say it's ruining the experience for you. For me personally, this situation would be the same as hordes going for def mode and stretching the game to resrouce war, which happens 50%+ of AVs I play and that doesn't ruin the fun for me. If I encounter this multiboxer some day, I'm pretty sure I'm going to have tons of fun trying out one or more of the tactics I listed or trying to explore off map or w.e.

You are not only stupid but also a liar. You have lost versus the multiboxer in various ways, sometimes they go up to into the alliance base straight away to first kill the marshalls and then the general. Sometimes one of them goes capture the alliance bunkers to speed up things a little. Obviously there will always some defence in the horde base, you would have to be really stupid to not defend your own general (especially since just 1 tank + healer can kill him in a minute, right)
You are just a bad loser who is outplayed and now comes to talk sith on the forums.
Also, please speak for yourself, you don't represent any horde player. Many horde players are very eager to join the multiboxer premades because everything is coordinated, the atmosphere in the raid is very good and wether we win or lose in the end, we still go home with loads of HKs which we want so bad for our title achievement.

You can't have it always your way, it's time to grow up and learn how to deal with it.

Oh it's all good. It's fun to watch and brings back memories of that 5-lock experiment. Your enthusiasm in that video is so infectious that half way through I catch myself cheering my own *** being kicked. And in response to some of the other comments...one of the things you realize once you start multiboxing in PvP is that the small handful of cookie-cutter builds that work so well for oneboxers don't work so well multiboxing. It's a good place to start but you usually have to experiment deep into talent trees in a way that you don't normally see. That's the main reason I like WOTLK so much; the deep customizability of the talent trees. If you want to try boxing some unusual classes and combos there just aren't number crunching guides floating around. It's all up to you to level, gear and test. Sometimes things just don't work out. As I recall, that all-voidwalker team was the only spec I had found where I could solo them through FoS and PoS and I was trying to adapt the "extreme drain tanking" approach to PvP.

And playing a single character is harder?
The multiboxer is controlling two classes at the same time and need to manage the healing and the damage dealer role.
That alone makes multiboxing already more challenging than single boxing.

I've never seen a multiboxer do this in AV. Only ONCE I've seen him rush boss in IoC and that's because you're abusing bombs, because you can take them with your whole group before they disappear, unlike normal players. It was literally sickening to see a MB demolish a gate in 3 bomb rounds because you automatically apply 25 bombs (or whatever the number of ur alts is) and u hit gate for 1/3 of its hp. We had glaives and inside bombers and you still got it faster than us (buy you I mean multiboxer, cuz i dont know and i dont care who you are). Like I said before, I don't care about you joining bgs, because I don't care about bgs in general, but no one with a brain cell can say that multiboxing 30+ characters is balanced. Btw, here's a tactic for you so you never lose AV: camp in boss room, and put your searing totems in front of you, and you hide behind the boss. Literally oneshoting people with totem ticks and they can't even touch you. You will go from 60% win/loss (yea right) to 100% ez mode. Pce out.

Yes it is. Unlike him the rest of us have to think about CC, and how to survive that ******ed damage. You can easily die just from flame shock dots in 3 seconds. He can wipe out at least 5 people with chain lightning... Why is it so hard to manage damage dealing!!!???
He just spams damage abilities, puts down totems and spams instant heals. Scripts and 3rd party programs help him a lot in managing all of that.

So ur argument is actualy that single boxing is harder because u have to think about CC?
Most ppl dont even use CC abilities at all in BGs. Depending on their role they just spam either heal or damage.

I guess u should just try multiboxing so u can see how complicated everything is. Making statements about multiboxing while u never multiboxed in ur life is kinda ******ed.

In PVP if you don't CC you are doing something very wrong. One full CC on healer in a smaller fight usually means that side of the bg is going to get pushed, and tower/gy caped.

Watched the stream of a guy multiboxing. He was roflstomping a raid sent to stop him. So yeah, reeeeally hard...
Spam damage with 25 ele shamans and spam instant heals with 15 resto dudus with a help of a 3rd party program. So much skill....
