I find British accents entertaining and appealing. That's about it.
My own friends weren't like that either. It's the people I wasn't friends with that seemed to have the problem. It's easy to generalize since my "friends" were only a handful out of a great many others.
I have nothing against the accents. It's the fact that just having said accent in America will basically get you female attention without a lot of effort.
But that's just me. Personally, i find british people a lot more friendly than their american counterparts, simply because they tolerate a lot more than we do. And they throw really good parties.
A lot of my friends like to drink but no one will get **** faced unless if it's a huge party. And there is never any pressure to drink. You can hang out with us and not have a single drink and still have a lot of fun. Our biggest rule is that no one is allowed to drink & drive. If you even try to grab your keys while tipsy, you'll have to get past one of my friends who is roughly 375 pounds.....I can't remember a time where anyone even tried the moment we told them they would have o deal with him.
Which British accent are we talking about here? People say I talk with a British accent, yet Brits themselves say I speak Queen's English, and I for one think that the Brits I knew from Leicester had a very distinct accent, and so do a lot of places on the British Isles.
