I did a test a while ago on this. It wasn't very elaborate I just did like 10 Eviserates per time for couple times and then put on the glyph and repeat. I did see a difference so I just assumed it works, but again nothing too fancy I just saw the number of crit increased maybe I was lucky? I dont know I only did it three times each.
I'm currently rolling assassination, and wish to give combat a second chance. I have some arp gear, decent stuff, probably around 5,6 to 5,8k gs. I have one problem, weapons selection. I have these and would appreciate help in determining which ones to use.

One thing's for certain: Bone Warden's Splitter as your off-hand for now.
Now, I'd just let taralej pick between Quel'delar's ArP+slower speed+agility, and Black Bruise's proc. Of course, giving your ArP rating and your soft-cap trinket (if any) helps.
I'd imagine Pugius is out because it's got haste instead of ArP, and is better suited for Enhancement.
You should make a para in your guide to show the whole meaning of an abrevation such as SnD so new rogues and players will actualy know what your talking about.
(5cp SnD + 5cp Rup) all i know is Rup=Rupture.
Well, you need a dagger if you want to use that Black Bruise of yours... BB is the best Combat / Enh weapon out there - the proc is just insane and it would easily outperform Quel'Delar. Pugius is crap. Having in mind the weapoons of choice you have right now, I'd roll HnS with Quel'Delar and Bone Warden's Splitter. If by any chance you have an ArP dagger or you have Mjolnir and 700ish ArP, roll CQC with BB and that dagger.Quote:

I'm leveling an Orc Rogue at the moment and was planning on donating for Havoc's Call Heroic MH and Scourgeborne Heroic OH with Hack and Slash for the racial expertise; I was considering the setup you mentioned but wanted to know just how bad HnS' current state is before making any decisions. I haven't done any testing myself and haven't been able to find anything beyond scattered, mixed, contradictory information (it procs off poisons but not SS/KS/etc) and no straight answers. The bug is "Dismissed" in the bug tracker and I'm just that much more confused. :(Quote:

I still believe that HnS is the most viable spec eventhough it behaves odd. I heard there was a bebeficial bug with the heroic black bruise that made fist/dagger not q bad choise as well.
Now about Expose armour its not mentioned because usually warriors apply their equivalent debuff. If by any chance you dont have one doing so you can squeez it in your rotation. dont glyph it though since there are far better choices

There's a lot of debate regarding Hack n' Slash. I tested this on Ragnaros today 06/09/13.
Test 1: Dualwield with massive amount of hit rating vs L59 dummy (no miss/dodge/parry)
Total white hits: 1423 hits
HnS proc: 73
73/1423 = 5.1%
Obviously you will get a more accurate result using more samples but it's not going to magically deviate from the 5% proc it. People are seeing low proc rate because of the base 27% miss chance vs bosses: if you miss, you can't proc but misses are count in the total number of hits on recount.
Proc rate appears to be ok.
[b] Test 5: Dualwield with massive amount of hit rating vs L59 dummy (no miss/dodge/parry), spam Sinister Strike in addition to auto attack.
This test will have auto attack and SS to increase the amount of hits.
White hits: 1397
SS hits: 383
HnS Procs: 56
56/1397 = 3.1%
Proc rate a bit too low, most likely not proc on yellow attacks.
[b]Test 2: using only OH and attacking dummy
HnS proc hits with OH (obviously)
Test 3: Use a slow, high damage MH(ICC level) and a low damage OH(level10 weapon from vendor) with same swing speed
You will always see 2 hits for normal attacks, one high damage and one low damage since both weapon swing at the same speed. When HnS procs, you will see 3 hits. I sat there and watched 20 procs, every single time it's high high low.
Test 4: get naked, equip low damage non axe/sword weapon in MH (use lvl10 vendor dagger), equip high damage icc level fast axe/sword in OH (around same speed as dagger)
Getting naked is just to your AP so the damage difference is noticeable between the two weapons. Every normal attack be 2 hits, one low damage and one high damage. When HnS procs, you will see 3 hits, 2 low and 1 high. Since dagger cannot proc HnS, this one forces an OH proc but the MH hits.
You are welcome to sit there and watch for hundreds of procs, but I take this means that HnS procs trigger a MH attack.
