Massive update. Refined the original content and cut a lot of crap from it. Added BiS list by request.
The one thing I cannot do for this game is figure out which enchants/ gems to have for raiding on my van cleef armor. Any tips rogue master?
Enchants section added. As per gems, you obviously need ArP. Some hit can be put on yellow sockets, but only if needed, and blue sockets should be ignored, except for one Nightmare Tear.
Can't say I'm very informed regarding any of the bugs for Rogues in WotLK, but I've always been a little bit interested in it since they ought to be amongst the top DPSers this expansion; Has anything been confirmed as fixed for Rogues on WotLK with the latest "patch/fix"? Like the problem with Crit calculation, if I wasn't mistaken?
I know this question isn't Combat-spec relative per-say, but seeing as you're one of the more prominent and well-known Rogue players on the forums in my opinion, Taralej (No disrespect to any other Rogues of course!), I figured I'd ask you or anyone visiting this thread and has knowledge regarding my question.
Thank you in advance!
I'd rather wait for the change log and see what's officially confirmed. HOLYs was the one, who investigated the crit calculations issue, but he stopped after seeing no progress for too long.
And also another personal thing - I am well known and prominent, but I am in no way "pro" or anything. I am more like an "archivist" of all kinds of information regarding (mainly) Rogues, and a "helper" for anyone who needs it. I'd like people to see me this way :)
I was wondering something in regards to this quoted part of your guide; Is it possible and/or viable to gear up till full BiS Combat spec and then also acquire the two BiS daggers for Assassin spec and switch between the two specs/weapons depending on the fight?Quote:

If not, is it instead viable to additionally acquire more gear to fill out certain slots that are more aimed towards Assassin spec (Less Arp and more Haste, I suppose?) and switch between specs/gear, or are the two Specs so different in regards to gems/enchants/stats for it to work? Would a Rogue have to re-gem his Tier 10.5 set every time he switched between Combat and Assassin spec to get the absolute optimal/max dps out of it?
You've already figured it out, so I'm just going to confirm it. A very small part of Assa's DPS is physical (melee & Mutilate), thus your ArP would be half-wasted. Assa relies mainly on Haste for poison refreshes and Envenom uptime, and AP for poison damage. If you really want to play Assa badly, then simply start collecting the gear for it, then re-gem and re-spec when you've got everything.
In any case, I don't think that DBS or Fester are worth the effort (free loot anyway), which is why I wouldn't consider switching to Assa into late ICC.
Tiny abom was never bis on retail for combat and certainly isn't on Molten where it's bugged. You can also safely drop the VDW ring for RS ring at full BiS and hit your arp and poison cap and be able to push some extra AP gems into your gear.
I guess Rogues on WotLK got little love from this patch/fix? >_>
Changed BiS list, added some math, details regarding DBW and other.
I am going to refrain from commenting on your classic Balkan attitude, DropDaDrop.
