Weddings are expensive and I completely understand that. And I'd even understand if they couldn't make it because of **** they have to do.

But simply not wanting to would kind of piss me off lol.

Weddings usually don't cost money to attend, unless you have to buy nice clothes first. Or it's a destination wedding, but people who have those can shove off honestly.

And yeah, my friend is very religious (Catholic) so there will be a full mass before the ceremony.

It's not just that I don't want to. Being present in such a ceremony makes me 100 kinds of uncomfortable. And to top it off, if they know me well enough to call me "friend", they'll know good and well that I don't want them sharing such a thing with me.

I think I've pretty well explained why I don't like them. I've had them described to me. I've seen them on television. I've been to similar "rituals" (such as a vow renewal). I think I have plenty basis for wanting to avoid them. It's fine if you disagree with me, or if whether or not you think my reasons are any sort of valid, because it doesn't really matter. If you wanted me to go to your wedding or something, I'm sorry.

Lol I wouldn't invite anyone unless if they were a close friend or family member. If I was getting married next year, a good portion of my family wouldn't be invited because I barely know them. And I understand not accepting an invitation if you don't know the bride or groom that well. I'd feel a little weird too.
