Lordaeron is 0%, Icecrown is 30%, so the golden path to keep Onyxia unique would be somewhere in the middle.
Icecrown and Lordaeron are permanent 3.3.5. Onyxia is a progression realm. Originally in wotlk for ICC content the Hellscream's Warsong buff was increased by 5% every month up until 30%. There's a possibility they launch ICC with 0% and then increase it by 5% every week similar to what they did in Classic. That would be considered retail values.
I can tell you right now though that clearing 0% buff ICC heroic is completely out of reach of almost all of this player base in a progression environment. Although week by week gearing up and slowly buffing it I think is a very fulfilling progression that slowly drops those barriers for guilds and continues to challenge them.
That's definitely the most realistic way to simulate the old retails experiencce.
Just imagine doing ICC heroic with all TOC gear. No LK weapons, no heroic tier sets, no ICC/RS trinkets, no Shadowmourne etc. etc. Then doing 30% less damage/healing and having 30% less health.
The average guild will not have the numbers period to beat DBS, PP or BQL at that point much less LK. You can't just hit Bloodlust and cheese it with gear like on Icecrown lol. Imagine players in TOC gear on Sindy ignoring phase 2 tactics entirely. Let's just stack on BQL no worries. Oh blood beasts that's optional cause I want parse. You will actually have to play the game.
I guess to further put that into perspective the world first LK kill on retail happened after the first buff went out. The world first on Classic even with near flawless execution hit the berserk timer and had to ping pong the boss for a while at the end. They did hundreds of attempts of practice on PTR to do that.
aka, they oneshot it the first week without gear. there is no need to make things easier than that. it will naturally get easier as people get icc gear. plenty of people do lod on lordaeron with no issues. and lod is just about the only fight that has some true difficulty to it from today's perspective on original values. most other fights on original values with today's knowledge are a joke, as proven by wotlk classic
are the mark of honor requirements to get the pvp gear in the preaptch gonna be removed or nah?
WAAAAAH so much crying
i myself will be out of town the week of launch, and i think his timing is PERFECT!!
its ok babies, you will have plenty of time to play. there there little babys, things will be ok i promise
most important question -
if s4 gear wont be obtainable for honor in pre patch, what will? s3?
gonna be pretty demoralizing when we have all these PvPers in full s4 bis gems/enchants and tens of thousands of gold griefing BGs and world PvP.
the stat difference of a player who starts on prepatch vs someone whos been playing all of TBC is going to be absolutely HUGE.
not to mention ofc ppl who are in raiding guilds who will carry their alts to full BiS before wotlk launches. were talking a MASSIVE gear difference, MASSIVE.
I'm all for the OG's who have been playing the entire past few years having advantages, as they should and undoubtedly will, but for all the new influx of players its going to be extremely depressing when you are more than a full season of gear behind, not to mention no raid carrys for gear, millions of gold, gems + enchants, etc.
you guys should really consider allowing s4 pvp gear to be purchased with honor. it will drastically increase the new/returning players experience and put them on a slightly more even playing field. maybe could enter rids aswell with s4 gear. they still wouldn't have the millions of gold, exalted factions, gear gems enchants etc that the OG's would have.
blizzard has done this at wotlk launches, its going to be a big mistake to not allow s4 gear to be purchased here as well. these ppl are going to have a colossal advantage from the day of prepatch for weeks ill s5 starts. and the BiS premades, oh man. this is one way to really water down the enjoyability of a new/returning player, the performance difference is going to be an absolute joke for the first few weeks, which in return leads to more ppl ragequitting and a ****tier expeience.
will 1-60 be x7? its of no reason to keep it low, as players come to play wotlk not vanilla at this point.
