I never distinguished between PVP and PVE server. I was referring exclusively to PvP server, which is what we have. And in retail same thing happens, there are multiple threads of people complaining about being harassed and demanding for some kind of dishonorable kill system. AND they do have an option for PvE server. That option doesn't exist here and, let's be realistic, will never be. Never have I came across a private PvE server to be honest.Quote:

Funny. Most Wow players on retail prefer the PvE, and thats not an estimate, thats what the usage charts show. And PvP realms is NOT the way it is meant to be played. It is meant to be played both PvP realms and PvE realms. Stop and think about the ignorance of your statement and look at what retail servers are, which is, by definition, how the game is meant to be played. I've seen results vary tremendously here. More often than not, the annoying aspie kid who is ganking you and your peers will end up being the one who gets camped. He will then cry like a *****, moan about how unfair it is that people with better gear are camping him, then log out.

Proof? Blizzard has always maintained PvE is more popular. It varies between 55-65% of players depending on the expansion. Currently US servers favor more than EU, but it averages out to around 53% PvE last time I checked.

Try reading what I say before replying to it saying you do not understand it. It really makes you look bad. When I say Its not meant to be PvP, but PvP AND PvE please notice the AND in the statement. Grab a dictionary and look up the meaning of AND. Tell you what, I'll help you out, since I'm generous. It means (exactly what it says) that Wow by definition has always given players the option to be PvE or a PvP server (hence this is why they offer BOTH). Slow down, go back and read it a few times, don't worry, you'll get it eventually.
I've played on 7 different servers and paid for 2 subscriptions simultaneously for 8 years on retail (this way I could play 2 accts and my brother could play one when we play together). I've been on big population servers, and smaller ones, I've also played on 6 different private servers (which will remain nameless due to forum rules, but if you want names PM me). So I've seen it all, and what I do on all servers is PvP, and its always been the best on PvE servers. I've never done much PvE. I offer my perspective to help advance the discussion. And you should be glad I do not just sit around and pick apart your contributions instead.... But its funny watching you try arguing instead of contributing

Arguing whether or not it's part of the game is pointless. The bottom line is: GMs aren't going to stop people from doing it, nor are the server developers-- neither on here or on retail.
People are stupid and do annoying things like gank lowbies or beg for gold in Stormwind or dig up every mining node on the map leaving only garbage in them. The only way to realistically stop people from doing these things is to close the server.
Since that is the case, the OP and others being ganked should be focusing more on what they are going to do about it instead of expecting other players to collectively stop repeating the behavior that is causing their problem.
But ganking is fun. Why are you mad, people?
