A MAC ban would only affect you if you were playing on his NIC. The moment you were on your computer, you'd be able to access just fine. An IP ban would apply to his IP. Although the chance of you getting the same exact IP is slim, sure it exists. However, you then claim you can access other of your accounts fine - which wouldn't happen on an IP ban. On top of all that, if it had been your friend, it wouldn't have resulted in a ban two months later.

In one of the posts he says he has played from his friends house. If he used only 1 account when he played there then that might be why exactly that account got banned with his friends accounts. That's the only thing from what he said that could lead to ban for 1 specific account along with his friends accounts. If that's true then he should not be banned since sharing internet connection is not against rules. Unless he also shared his account with that friend.

Yes, he mentioned that, after trying to claim it might be a "MAC ban" and having me point out how a ban like that would actually work.

For your claim to be true, he would have to have played at his friend's, used his account there, used the friend's account he supposedly was given (it was given to him two months ago, an account wouldn't be banned for sharing an IP in the past, and then never again in the last two months), his friend done something to earn a ban that encompassing (which wouldn't be a simple, one-time offense), he would need to have no idea that his friend did it while he was around there, and he would have had to not use any other of his accounts (that aren't banned) at all while at his friend's - all of that happening within the last few days.

Sorry, I'm more skeptical than that.

This has happened before to a few people, when they got perma banned on their account their, friends who was logged on 1-2 times were banned too.

And there is the issue with people playing on dynamic IPs and getting "Banned" because they shared the same IP range as another account. This happened to my boyfriend about a year ago, because he uses mobile internet, his IP justy happened to be shared with another Molten player who was banned. Releasing and resetting the IP fixes this issue, but it is scary when it happens nevertheless.

I've never heard of anyone that was banned just for having the same IP one or two times. It would be just too risky, since it could be just someone who happened to land on the same IP. Which is exemplified by your second paragraph - people sometimes land on an IP that has been banned altogether. This wouldn't be the case for this guy, though, since he says he can log on to his other accounts, just not on a very specific one that happens to have been banned from Support - which isn't done by IP at all.

You must have done something very ****ed up if they decide to close every account on the same ip.

If they can ban multiple accounts that belong to the same person then there is some kind of system that can link accounts used from the same IP. It probably doesn't work too well when sharing IP even if an account is mostly used from another IP. Also it seems possible that in serious cases a ban like that comes with ban from support system for all banned accounts and there was another thread about that a few days ago.

I don`t know what to say... This friend is real ... If u banned me and i am guilty i will not pretend to help me for this account ... He create this account and make 2 characters 1 lvl war and 16 lvl shaman after this i change password and make my hunt and dk... I play few times from their house when i have connection problems and 1 week i play with mobile network...I don`t know how i take ban with his accounts ... This is my favorite champion and this the reason i try to back...I can say please compare IP and MAC address with my other accounts and check IP address usually login with all my 3 accounts... That`s all..

I've never heard of any case of someone being banned from Support on multiple accounts because of abuse on a single one. There are people who, after getting banned on one account, try to continue whining at Smyth for the same thing on different accounts, and get the same treatment, of course. Anything besides that I'd believe after getting confirmation from Smyth only.

Yup, I actually had this happen before. I was testing an exploit to report it. Since I logged in once at my girlfriend's house, and her brother uses her wifi, he got banned for the same thing as me, at the same time, despite me only logging in twice at her house. It took a bit for the GM to unban me after realizing I was reporting the exploits I found, Then I had to tell them about the gf's brother and try to get him unbanned when I didnt even know his login name. It was a hassle. Happened roughly a year ago, and it was on this account right here.

I know for a fact that in cases of staff disrespect and exploiting they can and will ban all accounts on the offending IP.

Okay i will wait for Smyth decision.
