General question to the queue`s of Icecrown

All i was saying is that with all the money people have donated it won't be a problem to upgrade their hardware so it can carry more people without any performance issues. Are you from Warmane's staff or something? No , you're not so claiming that the server will be running at 300ms if they increase the cap with 1k-3k players is also from your own thoughts , don't be silly. From what i know , the server is hosted from somewhere around New York. I am living on the other side of the ocean , in Europe and i never had problems with the connection. Hmm , that's strange isn't it right? Maybe the people in USA that are having latency problems should blame their internet provider , not the server's performance.
It's also funny how you're having an anime girl on your profile picture yet you have the audacity to call me a "kid". My whole problem was the server's queue times so let's just keep it that way and don't turn this conversation into personal insults , alright?

Server is not hosted in North America. If you aren't 100% sure about something, it's better to not have your ignorance spewed out.

If the server could be upgraded, it would have been by now. This is obvious, simply because Warmane has, in the past, upgraded population whenever possible. Even now on peak times, server goes well into 14k, because of donors skipping queue. Asking any more would be insane, because even retail realms during wotlk didn't often hold such a weight.

With legion content being released soon, it's possible population will drop, and would make a server upgrade pointless.

All I can recommend is forking out 10 euros, or waiting for population to drop (which it may well do so with the incoming (and may I add stupid) rate changes).

And again, you're saying that server will handle +3k (cap of 15000, lol?) without any performance issues, and then you ask me if I'm from Warmane's staff? If anything, that's what I should ask you, so I'll ask again, and this time I'd like you to answer me without dodging - where did you get that sentence from? Because I say the opposite, and if you ask me the same, it's easy to answer - check again the link I actually have bothered to give you, and see that server runs fine in mornings and +110ms during its cap. What about you, do you have any valid point for the fact they can raise the cap by 3k without problems? The money they got from donators? Hey we already have two servers with 12k population cap, do you have any clue how much does that take overall? And are people still unhappy with it because of "boohoo queues they ruin my funz"? Obviously I'm not saying server will have 300ms, I haven't utilized my sentence on its literal way, but no one can deny the servers' stability will get affected, fact.
The queue is not a problem just for you, it is for all the non-premium account owners indeed. First think about what it is to have a game to play for free, and second, they still manage to offer a chance to skip the queue by wasting 10 euros (wow, so much) so you get free enter forever? Sorry if a private server can't be that perfect for every single player who joins...
The staff has already answered several times, they will raise the cap once they are cappable of, I honestly don't know why the crowd is still pushing it, it's a total disrespect for the whole job Warmane staff did so far, and in case you haven't noticed, according to what you and the staff say about increasing the cap, you're implicitly calling them liars.

It's not pointless, because you can then actually farm coins and earn them without donating. I donated 20euros to the server god knows how long ago, and I still earn coins via marketplace. Also, have you ever checked the latency when server is fully populated?

First of all , im not an ungrateful freeloader. The euro being more expensive than the other countries' currencies is true. And just because YOU can afford to spend 1k money on a game does not mean everyone else can. That was my whole point from the beggining , idk why you get so offended.

You wonder where i took that sentence from? Well i'm sorry you have to hear that but that's called an opinion , the same thing that offended all of you here for some unknown reasons. That means (in my opinion) that the server won't have any problems. Neither me or you are part of Warmane's staff so we don't know what will happen if they actually increase it a bit. Again , what i said was an opinion , alright? I didn't pointed it out so obviously in the beggining because i thought it was clear to everyone that my opinion was different. And the money they get from donators is , i think , more than enough for an upgrade. That's an opinion again which im going to defend with an example: Nostalrius. They were able to keep 30k or even more players in their server with no performance problems and everything was scripted without almost any donations. Yes , Warmane's staff are not volunteers and have to be paid for their work but that doesn't mean money isn't enough. As the guy above said , he donated 1k overall for the server. Two of my friends that play here have also donated around 1k because they can afford it. Who knows how many people donated so much and even more , much more so i'm not calling anyone a liar but that's business after all so i just doubt in some things that's all.

Anyways , i made my point. I was here to to give my opinion on the queue times. It surprisingly offended too much people because it was different so i'm backing off. I hope you are happy that you won an ... "internet fight" as they call them.

Log-in server regularly appears in NA. The actual realms are in EU. So yes, ignorance.

Many on these forums, myself included, know where the machines are hosted. It is not north America. I live in North America, so I wish they were, but they aren't (for good reason).

Nostalrius had a peak population of 14k. This is roughly the amount Icecrown gets on peak times during to donors. Furthermore wrath of the lich King is not vanilla wow. There are far more complex scripts in wotlk such as phasing and larger continents to deal with.

I agree it sucks to be a non-donor, but there's nothing that can be done. I 100% empathize with those that can't afford to donate, but they can either play on lordaeron (no queues) or just move to another server. Or of course donate 10 euros once, which anyone playing wow should be able to do by virtue of being able to afford a computer in the first place...

By the way , what does playing for free has to do with my complaining? Yes , this is a free server where donating/paying is not necessary to play so i have the full right to want changes and be part of the community as everyone else. What you did there is like saying to someone that plays free MOBA games like HotS or LoL that he can't complain for changes to be made just because he didn't pay/donate for the game.

By that logic I can complain because of server delays during peak times, I want a lag free server and I suggest reducing population to 10k. Would that be fair? Ofcourse not. But what you ask for is something that would cause even more delays/instability/disconnects etc. Drastically reducing the quality of service just so you can enter without waiting for queue? Either donate, wait or gtfo from Icecrown, those are your choices. I hope you choose the third option.

No, you don't. You have the right of accepting the fact that the people that contribute for this project have a higher priority of playing the game than you. In fact you should thank the gods for private servers even being a thing - If this private servers didn't exist you would have to pay for the official copy of the game and a monthly fee in order to enjoy World of Warcraft.

You're trying to compare a project that is built by a small group of people to a project that is conceived by a HUGE company that gets their profits through other games or through millions of micro-transactions. Thing that doesn't happen in this same server. Ignorance isn't a weapon that you should use. Research your sources before trying to compare such things.

You keep saying that the server is hosted in NY or whatever, I honestly couldn't care less, but at least I've seen that it's US players mostly who are suffering the most from latency according to the feedback on the forums. It's an hell of a coincidence, isn't it? Weird...
Also I really liked how you just went defensive mode saying you only gave your opinion after getting 4 or 5 replies against your words. Because for me this is closer to be an accusation. Ask anyone if you want. The moneys they get, don't worry about it, the staff will do whatever the best choice is for the moment, and it's not you who should say, or, give "opinions" if the money is enough to raise the cap as you don't have any clues about their finances, and neither do I.
To finish this small conversation, because this is getting embarrassing, the staff gave their answer several times, they won't reaise the cap for now. So now please let us, those who donated and helped the server, enjoy the realm without much latency while it lasts, as we don't want more delay by adding 3k just because some people can't/don't want to donate. Considering that you decided to be a "mister of opinions" well then, allow to give mine. The server, if anything, should have the cap decreased to 10k, yes, that would be awesome with no lags at all, and 10 000 players on one realm only is still absurd as hell, even 8-9k is if you ask me. Are we done? We finally shared our own opinions, what a joy, now I'm sure I'll sleep better tonight.
