When did that happen?

It seems like pretty soon in some people's thoughts no game developers should be able to sell their games cus someone else has similar one (I butchered the sentence, but you get the idea) cus they wont be able to think of enough "new" what to have in the game.

I don't mind if something is a remake, rehash, reiteration, or whatever else you may want to call it. If it's good and I want to play it, I may pay for it. If not, well I couldn't give two ****s about it. Blizzard games in general tend to be rather enjoyable, whether they are imitations or not. Diablo 3 is a pretty terrible ARPG, for example, but I would still argue that I got my money's worth of entertainment out of it. If it hadn't used "Diablo" in its name, I probably would've liked it better. I regularly play WoW on official servers, and have bought all of the expansions and keep an active subscription at almost all times. But why would I play WoW instead of say.... Everquest? Because I like Warcraft, and I have a lot of fun with the game. The game may not be entirely original, but it's not a bad game by any means.
The fact is that the game developers start to lack ideas for new games. I can't remember of a single game that got me hyped up and was worth in the end. The last game that got me really hyped up was Destiny and it was a flop. Take a look at the PS4 collection; A lot of the games released are a rip-off of other games or remastered versions of previously released games. However, even being remastered, I bought some of them - Just because they're a rip-off or remastered version that doesn't take away the fact that they can be fun but stating that they're original is wrong.
Imagine if Blizzard released a remastered or remake of D1/2 or WC1/2/3.

Imagine if they adapted World of Warcraft to be a massive open-world single player or online co-op game.
