As I've pointed out many times before, you bite when you acknowledge him or what he says about you / anyone else. If you really want him to shut up you'd ignore the bait he throws you instead of biting with your replies.

I disagree, he's written some pretty good guides and has made some decent points to the staff about how the server is managed in terms of their patching, testing procedures, and consistency in realm policies. I'm not saying he's a saint, but I also know him well enough outside the forums to know there is more to his personality than what ends up in forum threads. He just has more fun here where people are so easily triggered.

In the old days, his posts would've earned him plenty of infractions judging by their general inflammatory nature and obvious purpose of trolling/inciting arguments, insulting, etc. But then, every moderator has a different take on moderation, and I'm not suggesting he should or should not be, nor am I suggesting that you or any other moderator isn't doing his or her job properly.

I still haven't decided whether this thread has gotten ****tier or not, but it certainly hasn't improved in quality in two years.

This section has a "lenient" approach to the rules due to the nature of the section and the people that frequent it. However, even if we enforced the rules in full force, it is highly unlikely he would be permanently banned for insulting another member.

True in every sense, but I do remember when Leona got sick and tired of our **** and cracked down (or had mods crack down) for a while. Ah, fond memories.

Yes, it actually was. Being rude to an extent, sure. But all-out bashing on staff members "just because" does not fall under the "leniency" rule.
Edit: "Bashing" may not be the correct term for me to use here, but I think you know to what I'm referring.

I didn't say they were OK. I said they weren't worth a permanent ban. I also stated that I could be convinced otherwise if evidence enough is provided.

If you guys really want to talk about moderation, I mean, Orphic did the best approach. Made it pretty clear he's not complaining about the moderators or how they do their job. Yet, here you two are....

Yup, but I believe that was mostly due to how the moderators were being treated (IIRC).
