Why play a game you enjoy and be casual? Because you enjoy it.
Ehhhh, I guess you could put it that way?
I just think it's possible to be decent/good (not necessarily MLG pro I guess?) at those heroes without hanging out around the top 0.5%. To make a blanket statement that essentially says that anyone who plays those heroes below that sort of range is garbage is just silly.
I've had people bash on me on the Overwatch forum because I've played a grand total of 2 ranked matches this last season. They do it because they think it means there's no way I can know what I'm talking about. I'd play more ranked matches, but I have terrible latency and I don't want to ruin the game for everyone else. Plus people in the competitive mode tend to ***** at you if you don't follow the meta.
Well that's their problem, but if you play ranked and you use the "I'm just having fun relax BRO NOBODY WANTS TO BE THE TOP 0.0001%" excuse every time you **** up expect them to **** on ya because nobody wants this sort of person in their team. These people are also part of the "lol at least I have a life nerd" crowd.
Not saying you're either of these people, just talking about **** that happens in ranked.
I know that happens, but that also doesn't really pertain to my situation.
Bashin is fun maybe thats why. U should give it a try.
Half-Life 3 has a higher chance of being released than you becoming a mod.
Not to mention that it's so much easier pulling the "I'm higher rated than you therefor everything you say is invalid and irrelevant" card than spending actual time (and effort) in disputing what someone said.
Well there's a good reason for someone to be higher ranked and that reason is that they are better than you. It's really that simple. You can't blame the team, you can't put the blame on anything. Sure, you may be very knowledgeable about the game, but putting it all in practice with a swiftness is what gives you the edge to climb. In this regard, his opinion weights more than your opinion.
You missed the entire point... Me and Mercy were talking about the fact people judge for our opinions on unranked games.
I've done unranked games higher than my MMR, I've faced (and in some cases fed) a lot of Diamond players just because it was unranked play doesn't mean that the experience I had within them games were any different just because the game type did not lead to a ranking.
Out of my 1.5k games, 104 of them are ranked games from this season.... Tiny Ratio.
Next time understand the entire conversation before jumping in with whatever you want to say, cos now you look stupid.
And I missed the point how? I talked exactly about this issue.
I'm honestly not surprised you'd respond like that. I would've used terms like "really good" or "pro", but hey, you're "not really that competitive".
It really does not. Putting it into practice, as you say, is not necessarily as easy as just doing it. Myself as an example, as I explained earlier, I don't play ranked matches in games like that because I play with ****ty internet. The lowest latency I will ever get is 600ms. If I play with that low latency, I will ruin the experience for both teams. I will cause my team to lose (and everyone hates to lose), and I will inflate my opponent's MMR, possibly putting them in a situation in the future where they will lose because they have MMR they really shouldn't have. Some guy who is in platinum rank in Overwatch bashing on me because I don't play ranked: he tells me that things like Hanzo, Torb, and Widowmaker shouldn't even be played because they aren't in the """meta""". Meanwhile, I've been watching my favorite Overwatch streamer, and learning from him, support main in the top 20 players NA. I see people go Hanzo, Torb, and especially Widowmaker, with a fair amount of frequency - and I've learned why that happens because he's explained it to his viewers. Thus I know more about the top ranked play of the Grand Master league than this platinum player does, and yet, his opinion is better than mine because I don't have a ranked record? It does not work that way.
