The Merits of Disabling Dungeon Finder

There are no merits, only time wasted while flying on griffon for 10+ minutes and being afk. People don't communicate anyway.
To people saying that rdf brings worst in people, and they've seen it on retail. We're not playing on retail, we're all on 1 server and if someone acts like a dick others will know that.
How I'd like to see RDF - it's either:
1) Allow to queue only with premade party (5 people required)
2) Turn on RDF for previous expansions (means - once wotlk hits, RDF will allow people to queue vanilla & TBC instances, not wotlk ones).
Or just enable normal one when the time comes, or just do w/e you want. It's your server, but adjusting to what majority wants may be good for it.

You want peopl to be more social? Let them use RDF, they will meet new people, make friends :D (Makes as much sense as saying that disabling RDF makes people more social).

I was really having a hard time finding a group while i was leveling. I suppose heals find groups easier, but as a dps it's a torture. Also, about socializing aspects that disabled RDF brings...i don't think it is any different... you just spam in global until someone whispers you, and you don't have to talk with that person until the end of the dungeon. I mean, the point is: if you wanna make friends and talk with people in your group, you can do it regardless of RDF, it's up to you whether you gonna do it or not. One thing i really like about not having RDF is that now ppl aren't really leaving groups, but still you ''waste'' more time finding 5 people on global chat. It was very easy to form a group with my main, cause everyone was leveling at that time, but with my alt it was a real pain. I can't imagine how hard it is now, when everyone is in outland.

Also, it's worth noting that our group leader was also spamming the global chat searching for heal, and in the end, we ''lost'' more than 30 minutes for nothing and didn't even make it at the end, even though we were searching for ZF, in which you have tons of quests.
After this, i stopped doing dungeons, and just focused on questing.

I would like to suggest something like Group Que feature, which at least forms a group with a tank, heal and 3 dps, but you'd still have to walk or wait for summon. Idk, maybe it's worth considering.

And in the end, i'm not complaining, i'm just sharing my experience, and thinking loudly how this awesome server could become even better.

Nobody on this topic inclined that they don't know the design features, that doesn't mean the community can't debate the pro's/contra's of not having RDF.

I just ignore people who SPAM global and do not join their group. My Ignore list is filled with those people. Maybe that was the issue... other thing might be that most people are already lvl 70 and or rushing to get to 70 and just skip dungeons, therefore it might be ALOT harder to find any non-outland dungeons group.

Outland Heroic groups can be created in less than 5 minutes.

Why don't you play on Vanilla server if you want Vanilla experience?
WOTLK is meant to be with RDF not a Vanilla mod.

I really really wish RFD stays desabled. The absolute main reason I fell in love with this server. The realm feels alive, immersion is like I never had in years since you actually need to move and run around the world to do some dungeons. RFD feels so counter intuitive for an MMO specially rpg even. With RFD on retail or wtv, you are questing, you are in the world, all of a sudden you get teleported to a dungeon that you have no purpose to do so (immersion wise) have no ideia how you got there, run a few times skipping content entirely without saying a word and after all that happens, you get teleported back to your old place with all your quests that you had before now green and the zone underleveled for you.
I hate RFD, and clearly many more do to. I hope that not now, not with wotlk release, not in the future, not never it gets implemented. Yes it's slower, way slower, but slower does not mean bad if it is enjoyable, unless of course you are talking to the new and current generation of people that don't give a **** and only want fast fast fast, skip skip, pay pay. Thankfuly this server is not for those, there are plenty more servers for those tho, and few for us.

Another RDF thread that is going nowhere, lol.

Anyway...
Socializing, right... Guilds are for socializing - you have your core group that consists of reliable, good people. You spend the most time with them - raiding, talking on TS/guild chat, whispering, doing BGs, sitting in Dala showing off, all that good stuff :P That's where the friendships start. When that boss you've been wiping on for hours finally falls or someone does something silly and it becomes an inside joke - it's like "bonding" :D
I'm talking about decent guilds ofc., not the ones with 800 members, where noone ever talks.

5 mans are meant to be PuG content - fast, easy thing you do to get some extra emblems/gear. 30 min of facerolling through a dungeon with some randoms and you're done. RDF is a perfect tool for this, it's a real shame that "the most complete WotLK server" doesn't have it. And don't tell me to quit, I already have 3x70 here XD

this is only half true.RDF was released in 3.3 patch this was ICC content.we currently have TBC content and then it will be naxx and so on it does make sense to be blizzlike and disable it for now.

If you think Game features or mechanic's are subject to players behave in a bad way then you are very wrong. Have allready seen players just need on random stuff in dungeon. Druids need on wands etc.. For the most you can reason with players but overall you will still meet these players and it is all about the person's thoughts leading to the action taken.

yes yes yes so much yes, by far best idea i've seen yet

come on - another threat about RDF already with 3rd page of posts.

how many times Warmane Staff must say this:

RDF will be disabled either permanently or until very late game time (after ICC+ content available for long time).

you wont get any other answer.
