i dont have enoughe memory of nonhero strats i did raid soo in normal mode only *checks armory* 5 times. but i vividly remember on heroic our raidleader benching each and everone who got hit by his projectile thingy on heroic because it was instadead tried to sift through all the videos i have from back then from our SoO raids but there is none from Immerseus unfortunately.

and yes it does tick every 0,4seconds (not 0,25 i fuxed it up with the other swirl) dmg wise. this has been discussed in legth on the retail forums 2-3 years ago when the content was live on retail.

watch the hp of the guy getting hit by the beam. it is heroic though, so all in all it seemes frostmane immerseus has his beam bugged and it is dealing heroic damage values.

yea you are free to believe what you want but this wowhead guide is false. the guide creator has fallen for the same stuff that everyone else did back then thats why there was a 20+ page discussion thread on retail forums years ago.

watch as the beam hits his 600k+ hp does that look to you like 30k? if yes then answer me where did the other 200k hp go he lost in a blink of an eye. and when you see him walk over the small black tornado swirls he looses ... exactly the mentioned 30k.

it is what it is and it is not the first time blizzards tooltips and informations are hard to understand or formulated in such a way that 90% fall for it. was the same back then with dk anti-magic shell when ppl believed that with glyph it started absorbing physical damage and countless other times.

and as to why he only gets 1 tick. this was known and common strat under the more versed players, ill give you a hint watch how he moves when he is about to hit the swirl.

ok maybe u are right and values are fake, he got hit 200k once (he took more dmg because he was standing on sha splash) but on warmane you get hit 200k so many times even 1 milion hp tank cant survive it,thats just wrong

from the info i got from you it can be because

1. too high damage
2. ticks come too quick
3. damage not split evenly on all the ticks but all damage at once (basically the same as 1.)


now only to hope someone from dev takes the time to read through all this and finally change the values in the script. :D

appereantly he took that 200k dmg from 3 stacked sha splashes (everyone else got hit by swirl and their hp didnt drop), look what happens on 1:25 you can see swirl wave ticks for 24k dmg (reduced from 30k because of barkskin 20%)

you can see on his health bar the bright blue like part of it, means he has a absorption shield from pala mastery illuminated healing. also can be seen in his buffs.

the annotations when enabled say "Seems like Blizzard have tweaked/fixed the damage and it hurts now. Just don't get hit by it by adjusting to the bosses casting direction."

also on 2:15 you can see a different recording where he plays his pala tank and take a tick for about 130k and he does not stand on the pools/swirls

i do not understand a single word in this video, but watch the shaman that is standing where the beam starts hitting. poor guy just drops dead. come to think of it he just drops dead like the guys in the warmane video.

you can see the swirl doing normal tick damage (around 200k) you also see him already before getting hit by the swirl only being 50% hp because hes walking in too much **** that damages him. 70k+ from the black puddle, also the adds are already there and when they die they do raid damage. and then 2x 200k ticks from the swirl because hes too slow and does not outrange the swirl but trys to run away and gets hit bcus of lack of speed buff.

i dont want to sound mean or insulting but the video shows only a raid failing at his wave ability. the stuff about his hp is correct what he says he should emerge with less hp equal to how much is missing from his energy so when you drop him on 80% he should respawn only with 80% hp.

idk how good scripted it is but if it is correctly done you can simply outrange the wave.

make the boss be tanked in a way that he faces away from the group with one healer in range to the tank so he still gets healed because swirl starts in direction he looks and only moves like 1/3 of the room, then you have all the time to outrange the wave, normally if it is working correctly you can run to the edge of the room towards the wall and simply walk "around" it.

this way everyone should have enoughe time to simply outrange it for everything that is ranges and melees normally should have some sort of speed buff ready if they want to stick to the boss so they can outrun the wave and the tank that tanks it needs to use some speed buff/jump to get ahead of it (all tanks possible)

tank is on orange or yellow side with what i mean, and when wave comes raid should have enoughe time to outrange the wave. and tank is basically save because during that no melee hits so no worrie that healer outranges, after wave ends(or even slightly before that) all should be again on their places)

Well what really bug from my experience in soo is:
1. Torrent swirl. Here it is marked as purplish orb on ground and it doesnt show when boss start doing his wave swirl. If you step on this **** (sorry my vision is kinda tunneled but when you need to run like half circle you will lost track after 2 platform), walla instead of 30k and minor knockback you get permanent 30k tick. More swirl potentially make moar ppl get permanent 30k.

2. Adds speed. On like fatboss of another video you can see that black adds like stop briefly when you hit them. Here it doesnt. Some spell like cascade also didnt tag the mob, so after you cascade the mob mob get damaged and get healed to 100% back again. The adds that need to be healed should walk like turtle after receiving heal, here it only really slowed at like 80% healed.

3. If you root/stun black adds it explode and damage whole raid (like getting soaked by immerseus). This really deter my class (frost mage) since it is really hard to kill without fof from pet freeze......fml.

they dont stop from hitting, they are either slowed or stunned in the videos you watched.

also if you lose track after running half a circle in that room you need to practice more :P

that the add get slowed significantly when it is like half hp. Here it is just on turbo mode

the only time where they "stop" on their own is when they spawn they have slight delay but everything else is done by the players if players dont slow/stun/root then they go all time "turbo mode"

yes, damage should not come when they are stunned/rooted/slowed.
