So i would say dodgy is pretty 'influential'. Not saying that i like him, but it's a fact that he's well known in the private server community.

I got to ask. Since when do subscriptions make a person reliable? You do know that I can make a youtube channel right now with nearly 1 million subscriptions while dropping a few dollars here and there, right?

If I am to do that, does that automatically make me a reliable person even if I'm spitting nothing productive in every single video? Come on now. We both know that subscriptions mean nothing nowadays.

Obviously it is. Everyone wants to be popular someway somehow even if they're nothing more than just a number. People are little in general and we'll always be little - Reason why haters and lovers exist.

The fact people are concerned with being popular on a private server in the first place tells me they still think like teenagers and that being well known is somehow 'cool'. It also opens the doors for close mindedness and inability to properly debate topics that were theorycrafted a long time ago. Theorycrafting the latest exploit or latest broken class mechanic is nothing to be proud of, it only tells me that big dick dps is more important than playing the game properly and anyone who says otherwise is somehow automatically categorized as 'jealous' or a moron. This explains Dodgy being influential just about as well as "warmane fixed a bunch of stuff, they win". I guess pewdiepie should run youtube, in that case. You can't litcherally throw words around with no context.

If you asked a random person in r/wowservers who would influence changes, it would be Alex or the nostlysiumcrest devs.

That's how dead this game is.

IMO the only influential person in the wow community was Gummy; he used to sit with us in 6 hours raids fixing pathfinding and fairly removing items that guilds took from bugged bosses to keep everything balanced.


Warmane does a great job, and that's why they get my donation money and play time, but as far as "server of the year awards"? I can't take that seriously.

That's why i put " " on influential. Don't try and bull**** me. You said he was a small youtuber (in the private server community) and i proved you wrong. Nobody is truly influential in the private server community, simply because there are so many different servers and player groups.
And who in hell in r/wowservers even likes (let alone be influenced by) Alex? Everyone thinks he's a ******.

Warmane's servers wow alone would be 26th most played game on steam. All private servers together? 3rd or 4th. That sure is dead.

You mean the position? Warmane 22k, certain russian server 41k, certain vanilla server that just launched 5k+12k queue(!!!). Most famous 3 servers are enough for the 4th position.
