I don't play Alliance, but I can at least think further than my nose and realise that having faction balance is good for both factions (empty BGs, no world PvP), it should be a goal the devs strive toward.

this is not 1 to 100 nor even 1 to 10. i've been in hellfire peninsula yesterday and yes, there's a lot of hordes, but probably 1 to 5 tops.
the fact that you see 15 hordes doesn't mean you're the only ally around, that's just the way you feel.
also you do 10 quests and you're ready to go to zangarmarsh where there's less.

no doubt the balance is crappy but let's not give people a reason to say allies are exaggerating crybabies.

The site says 9.1k H, 5.8k A. I wouldn't call that balanced.

Right, but that's 2:1, not congruent in the slightest with the pictures you just posted, or the experiences people have with how populated IF, SW and especially Shattrath is with Alliance.

There is something not a single person is commenting. All those 2:1 ratios and the information in the website is for the whole server.
It does not reflect in any way, from my experience and by the looks of it from the many others's, on single zones, being the best example Hellfire Peninsula.
I would love to see real-time statistics of the population for each zone in WoW's world. Then we would know the truth.

Locking horde is literally going to solve nothing at this point, if we assume to make it easy to show that there is 10k players, 7000 being horde and 3000 alliance, if you lock horde to new chars then we magically need 4000 new players (i.e the entire population of medivh) to roll alliance to balance the server.

this would have been good at launch to balance out the number of players per faction, but at this point this does very little.

we need about 40% of horde side to roll alliance to balance it out, or come up with 4000 new players all who want to be alliance. Sadly at this point i do not think either of these things will happen.

re-releasing the server while implementing faction control systems like char creations, and queues would balance the server but probably turn a lot of players away who already got to max.

so not sure what can be done outside of removing all racials (not the paladin seals or priest radials but everything else) and then a lot more people would probably roll alliance but then again i do not think it will ever be balanced as the damage is done at this point...shame really as this happens on virtually every TBC server so it was not exactly hard to see it coming

Journey on Outland to get some Gear in a 70 DNG, moving with the GRP in direction to SL, getting gankraped like hell, so we move to SV same **** different place. Looks fun to gear up on Outland

That's a first step, to keep it from getting worse. More is being planned and considered.
