False, newbie and noob are quite different things.
Go read a bit here http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=noob
OnTopic: One of my firsts BGs being new in game also I was asking a mage for buffs, being a warr. :D
I tried for hours to solo deadmines and I would get lost every time. My attempts in the three hours I tried? About 4. That place was freaking confusing!
My first play in wow is instant lvl 80 ret pala with full ret spec 0/0/71
i don't have idea what this spells are and full clickers...
that was 3yrs ago...hahaha
i once deleted my rogue back in Vanilla (lvl 38) beacuse i wanted my new character to be on top of my character page :D
Then i created my rogue again afterwards

Noob and Newbie is absolutely the same, New beginner -> Newbie -> Newb -> Noob. De-evolution of words....
My very VERY first char in WoW back in vanilla was a human warrior. I was level 6 and didn't know I had different abilities and a spellbook so I was just auto attacking. The only mobs I was killing were the wolves just north of Goldshire cause I didn't know anything else and I was scared to leave Goldshire.
As I was walking on the southern border of Elwynn I could see the mobs in Duskwood - the wolves and the spiders with ?? level and I thought they were bosses.
I was terrified of Duskwood and the first time I entered the zone, I followed the road from Redridge to Darkshire, and when I finally entered town there were 2 guys in the middle chatting and I just stood there by them trying to calm myself that I'm not alone.
All those memories are from a private server, when I finnaly started retail I played a human rogue and got stuck at level 16 for a week or so cause I didn't know where to go, I didn't have any quests appropriate for my level (leveling was HARD back in vanilla, plus I didn't know I could grind it)
Ahhhh, good times.
My interest only holds for PVP on mmo's, 90% my gameplay is in the arena, BG's, or high level maps trolling the opposite faction.
My pathetic secret? Although as of recent I have made slight improvements (emphasis on slight..), I still do not know how to, and could not run a raid to save my life. I have been taking baby steps with RDF. lol.
back in vanilla, I leveled a mage to 30 without talents/training.
