yeah there is also the problem of commitment with the faction. so we are now using people that do not have any sympathy with any faction, added into a faction that does care, against a faction that does care entirely.
what i mean is, when the pvp scene involves people that are limited to belonging only on one side, they tend to try and change their position in order to win. like building pvp guilds etc. this was fine until the faction ratio went down for horde and up for alliance, resulting into 10 minutes queues on alliance making it impossible to make any sort of pvp guild what so ever.
so if we only solve the queue times with blackrock players, the horde faction results into a group of individuals with no interest in common. so there is no competition in the long run. hence, alliance will always win in this scenario.
maybe we should just do the mercenary mode for all realms. cause only for blackrock ended up being damaging.
again, given that some people are really against this, we could perhaps study the possibility of being optional? like a configuration in the account menu with a checkbox: "do you wish to participate in mercenary mode? blah blah blah [ ] ". So if people care more about queue times on alliance, they will have to enable this feature, and be grouped with Horde players.
Eventually if queue times go back to 10 minutes on alliance, i can see how many people would turn this feature on, in order to be able to fight. which is the base element of fun, as in the bottom necessary layer of fun. you can build on top of that the RPG elements etc. but if you are waiting longer than what you play, the fun element cant sustain itself any longer.
