bump for great cause
finnaly open this arena for all those crybabies to feel THE MIGHT OF THE STEEL GAUNTLET kek
nowhere to run, nowhere to hide. perfect
Unlike you people want to use their brain when they enter the arena. Not just charge, hamstring, mortal strike and bladestorm. If you want that BG's are always open.
That arena is perfect for warrior scrubs that charge in, LoS their healer and then die. It basically solves all of their problems. No LoS no problem.
Ye. Like there isn't an abundance of scripters scum on IC.
Since we are mentioning retail as a defense to *****ic reasoning.... On retail every other ***** didn't have SM and heroic gear. How do you plan to balance that out, eh?
You have Loarderon as an almost no LoS map. But even in ruins you need some skill. In RoV you require almost 0 skill.
What combo is a hard counter to arms/holy? Lemme spare you the pain of thinking. There is none.
You realistic chances of defeating them with some comps with disc priest(and also shadow/frost), but you have to play near perfection to do it, while arms/holy can make a few blunders.
That may be the case. But similarly to how not all classes were created equal, neither were the arenas.
Different comps have different advantages in different Arenas. This is by design.
Blade's Edge arena offers a HUGE advantage to caster comps who can take advantage of the multiple terrain levels. Think of how effective a Warlock's teleport or Shaman/Druid knockback can be here. I'm sure many melee classes would agree its a bull**** advantage that does not exist on other arenas (like Nagrand arena). But you won't see many arguing that these arenas should be disabled due to unfair advantage that clearly exists.
The point is different arena comps are advantaged by different arenas. Sure braindead rush comps might have an advantage in Ring of Valor, but that is fairly offset by their disadvantage in other arenas.
Therefore to leave Ring of Valor disabled for the sake of 'fairness' is a very narrow and nonsensical reason that suggests whoever decided this is simply biased in favor of certain classes in PvP, either that or they simply don't understand the Rock/Paper/Scissors nature of WOTLK PvP.
I also understand RoV many be technically challenging to implement correctly, but it's tragic that this significant problem has existed for years. It's a blatant disregard for the PvP community as the penultimate PvP achievements are locked behind a deliberately disabled feature.
And that's why some comps are favored on the Loarderon arena. They don't need RoV. At least they don't need the WoTLK one... Cata version is.... Maybe decent enough? I will prolly never understand WTF they wanted to do with RoV in the 1st place.
Loarderon/Blades edge is an advantage. RoV is complete braindead idiocy.
RoV has nearly 0 LoS. Loarderon has BS moments when a warrior charges you because the textures are done in way only Warmane staff knows how, but it is still miles ahead compared to rotating BS that is considered "LoS" in RoV. Other maps have both open lanes and LoS places. This isn't an argument about what map has the advantage or not. This is an argument about a piss poor and lazy map design.
Blades edge has a lot of places that favor melee classes, RoV has 0 places that favor casters. Rock/paper/scissors can't be used as an argument here.
It's bad that RoV isn't there for the achievement, but tbh there are way larger issues. You have to realize that PVP community is at the bottom of the priorities list.
Lordaeron arena is completely usable by casters that require line of sight. There are 4 pillars.
RoV is in fact the least braindead, because the environment changes!
It has conditional LOS. This creates difficulty some players who have trouble humping more than a single pillar for the entire match, as they are forced to move between the pillars, or optionally get on top of them to create the Blade's Edge height advantage.
Well this is your opinion. RoV being enabled is Blizzlike, which Warmane is supposed to be trying to be. But by intentionally disabling this arena, it is not Blizzlike at all.
Incorrect, you can get on top of the pillars to create a height advantage, it just requires timing.
Of course it can. It's the basis of WoTLK PvP mate.
That is clearly evident. I just wished there was one staff member who was slightly interested in PvP..
