Not taking anything away from this great guide but this is also a sick sick read from Miltonius, who played molten I believe. I learnt a lot from reading this and that guide to get a basic idea on fire mage play and such.

And I cannot even begin to think how many times Mana Shield has saved me also. It's the only thing that can save a fire mage consistently. Basically you want to put points into anything that helps with survivability because some is better than none.

Nice guide, i chose max dmg spec since i pref dmg > kite and surv, enjoyed that vid too, i changed from frost to fire today and i LOVE it, but there are 2 anoying things about it 1. I get oomed so fast 2. Since fiery payback is bugged and my pb is a 1.3 sec cast but haz a cd, so when i proc hs i have to wait for cd to end. Any advice or tips?

this spec gives double ice block, some cc, and the nice burst of ffb. if u insist on getting LB, then u should get firestarter too [for bg spec]

gives fire starter and LB for a lot of aoe fire damage, adds a chill effect to blizzard to help slow and possibly snare them for a shatter. can also frost nova to add the shatter for ur blizzard. so u get some pretty nice group aoe to easily top damage chart of AV :) just.. make sure u stay with ur group as u cant survive verywell.

in arena, it depends on ur comp if u should get mana shield talent or not. also, pom pyro should be rather nice if u have a shaman in ur team. earthbind for 12% damage increase from ttw

1 dont use mana shield constantly, only at or below 35% of hp and thats how fire mage works really, thats why they gave us mana free scorch and hotstreak in cata, but the best way to save up mana is lots and lots of crit to burst people down fast.

2 wait for the next update, it will be fixed.

Fire dont need, ffb does

Hey tefelis, i got a problem, i recently switched to firestarter spec and i like it, infact its great, yesterday i had 18 killing blows 1 death.
The problem is i oom so fast, and i dont use mana shield when above 35 % hp, also i mostly use mage armor. How to solve this?

Learn how to do alot of damage with minimum mana, analyze each spell or combination of spells and find out mana per damage ratio.

Like DB-flame strike-blast wave-flame strike.is about 8k initial damage with 300 mana cost.

While scorch, scorch, insta pyro with hotstreak proc is about 14k initial damage but with 1600 mana.

So, its basicaly, the greater the burst, the more mana it costs.

Also, there is the ffb build, at which ffb costs about 500 mana and does like 10k damage, but with a long cast time and you lose mana shield.

Check the damage which lb does, its suposed to be best damage per mana spell.

Stack some int if you want, it does give crit too, but i wont recomend it.

Try putting talents into clear casting and elemental mastery, but that wont help much honestly.

Fire mages arent very mana effitient, frankly.

Try to play effitiently, and exchange that haste to crit :D. No but srsly, that might help with mana.

All and all, just go with it, theres almost nothing you can do with our mana problems. Fire is considered the underdog spec for a reason :D.

Well im getting my wf boots today and rele chest after flush. Also fire is horrible for 2s, what spec for arenas?

Frost is the best, then comes arcane and then fire.

Personaly i go with fire, and sometimes i solo them :D. Its not horrible, but not the best choice by far.

Fire has way too many aoe spells, thats why it sucks for arenas, ima go with arcane i guess...

That rele boots that give haste, are leftover i didnt yet replace, getting wf dominance ones soon

Some of of you will say that I'm a douchebag or whatever, but don't you think that a mage who's not able to reach 1800 rate [(on Molten) with 71/0/0 arcane build & 0/53/18 fire build] is making a guide how to play mages n talking about PvP. The fire mage "guide" you made is most likely not yours - you re-posted it as yours (and by that I'm not saying it's from Molten forums).
