The difference between comedy and tragedy is the distance.

You joke about it because you live on the other end of the continent, you were probably too young to even process what was going on at the time. But others weren't and it's still a touchy subject to bring up, the least you can do is respect that.

I hope everyone that is offended by 9/11 jokes are also offended by all other jokes that are directed towards a tragedy and I hope they ignore such jokes and move on with their lives.

Some things you just don't joke about. There's no "too soon" and there's no "anyone can get offended by anything" for them. You'd expect someone who had been repeatedly banned to be more careful and/or smart and avoid a permanent ban.

Way to miss the point. It takes a lot of effort to **** up reading three lines and by god, you pulled it off.

Last time I checked, people still mention nukes from time to time yet I see no Japanese whining about it. As for 9/11, Americans will never get over it as long as they don't know how to get the yolk (the humor).

As long as Americans shun "plane in building" jokes, they will never get over it and the year 5k will come, the world will evolve and Americans will still mention 9/11.

Most of the off-color offensive jokes got old about 5 years ago. They're not taboo, you have 14 year old tumblr girls saying them, so they're not funny anymore, kind of simple as that.

Nukes are generic. We're not throwing a fit anytime people mention planes or explosives.
Japanese people have the highest suicide rate you realize, it's for different reasons, honor based I think, but it's probably the worst way to say they don't 'whine'.

And it's been 12 years, not nearly 70. And we're still engaged in the same relative conflicts too, so they're still relevant.

Then I don't expect anyone here to joke about any of the wars. This obviously includes all of the Hitler jokes you see roaming the internet. And when was I banned? Was I banned by YOU or a Developer? Go ahead, remind me.

Avoid a permanent ban? I'm sorry, so everyone here can be banned multiple times but I can't? And I wasn't even banned a legit reason. Non of the mods knew what was going on when I was banned (and the others).

But go ahead, SHOW ME MY LIST OF BANS. Make sure the dates are included c:

Many people joke about the Holocaust and 99.99% of those people weren't even alive. But there are still some holocaust survivors out in the world. And is it a touchy subject to bring up? Oh it can be, it definitely can be. But at least we can all respect that and not make jokes about it right?

Or am I wrong? Feel free to explain.

Also, there are constant wars happening as I type this. Is it okay to joke about those? I mean if I have to wait a certain time period to joke about a tragedy, I'll wait.

Okay, so apparently Lawl isn't the only one which means it's my fault for not being clear enough.

Some were affected by it, others weren't.
Some feel strongly about the subject, others don't.
Try being considerate.

You have your views and principles and I have mine, I don't really feel like arguing about how funny or appropriate your epic 9/11 jokes are. I just wanted to make a post and just put in my 2 cents.
