I like animals but I hate pets.

I am fond of pets, but am allergic to just about everything on the planet so none for me.

There's a huge difference between spasms in reflex from choking - which are pretty much instinctive - and trying to turn into a humming bird while gravity is laughing at your face - which really shouldn't be among the instincts of regular human beings.
