I don't have any of the details but it wouldn't surprise me if there's a cooldown on failed logins by IP and/or account. If people are using VPNs that might explain some of it too because of the IP sharing. I'm going to try triggering it on my end.
Update: I opened my client, tried 2 more times and the 2nd try has the error.

So.. I got in like 20 mins ago, I restarted wow cuz an addon started having problems, then when I log in back I get the same error, it's been like that for the past 20 mins, no update yet, really ?
There has been a cooldown on failed logins by IP for a very long time (or maybe forever), but it doesn't make sense that so many players are triggering it at once. Something is amiss and someone from the staff should look into it.Quote:

hey gm answer me, i have another problem im getting dodsed on 3 of my acc but on one not, it happens only in bgs, leaving bg or alt reloging back to bg fixes the ddos, so i move on my screen but in real i stay on place, or if i want to mount it says "u cant to that while moving"

I just had the issue and i found a workaround for it. Its nothing about wrong password entering... It's something with ur internet provider and ur public ip. Here is what i did to workaround the problem:
1. Tried to log in and it failed.
2. Turned off wifi on my hotspot - to be sure it won't connect to my wifi (same internet provider - same public ip - it won't work).
3. Ran the hotspot from my smartphone.
4. Connect my laptop with the hotspot.
5. Ur welcome
I'm not sure what's causing the issue but I brought it up in staff chat.
For me the login process is working as intended. I can trigger the cooldown from failed attempts and it drops off within 2 minutes (I didn't time it but it was short). But I have no idea why it appears stuck for others.
Could not be able to log in for 1h.
Dont know if it helped, but i restarted my modem (my ip change every restart), restarted PC and then i instantly logged in.
