I realy do like the idea of a progressive server.
I would love to have a server thats starts like:
Rates 4x for XP/Reputation/Honor/Drops and so on
It starts as a classic server where only Onyxia and MC are open plus warsong
After 8 Weeks BWL and Zul Gurub opens plus alterac valley
After 6 Weeks AQ 40/20 opens plus arathi
After 4 Weeks Naxxramas opens plus BC Talent trees
After 6 Weeks BC content opens(normal instances, Season 1, Tier4 stuff)
After 6 weeks Season 2 starts plus Tier 5 content
After 6 Weeks Season 3 starts plus Tier 6 content
After 6 Weeks Season 4 starts plus Sunwell plateau
After 6 Weeks WOTLK starts with naxxramas and Season 5
and so on.
That way we would have a progressive server that keeps you busy for at least 1,5 years, and new players can follow up with expansions.

Lordaeron is a chill place after Icecrown packed with braindead donators and multiboxers.
Only one thing i miss is RDF and want to faster content release.
Rest if pretty fine.

Lot of people want to make world PVP, but don't want the hard leveling phase.
The problem is that real leveling combined to lack of rdf lead to active WPVP, that's why there's no WPVP on other realms...
I like playing on Lordearon, but sometimes I go to Blackrock for a few BGs, that's a good compromise for me.
I think many people forget this is game for fun, and everyone has to find his way for fun.

Lordaeron is pretty fine, world pvp on every corner during leveling, and, compare to Icecrown, you will be ganked mostly by enemies within +-5 levels to your, not by some bis 80 player.

However, main reason between Lordaeron and Icecrown: on Icecrown each guy can just donate and be decend just because carried by gear, while on Lordaeron he will never leave sewers without bis gear avaliable on the market.
Even that fact there won't b tons of shadowmourne apes makes me happy.
By the way, lordaeron people donate a lot and provide moneys for Warmane, difference is - dat donation is not gamebreaking and not pay to win (it's not a secred shadowmourne was avaliable only via marketplace for some time)
Not sure what's the situation right now, but according to what was said in thread about report of 2015/what can we expect in 2016 (couldn't find the exact thread, but that was its idea) in the beginning of the year it had 46% of population, but could cover only 4-6% of its own costs, not even talking about total budget.
