Inactivity Cleanup and Gold Squish for a healthier economy

I honestly don’t see how this is even a debate.
The squish is highly beneficial.

I’ve lost count of how many ICC players I’ve seen in Global offering thousands of ICC gold for just a few hundred Onyxia gold. That alone shows how inflated ICC’s economy has become.

And considering how old ICC is, a squish is necessary to keep the realm’s economy relevant.
Central banks in real life do something similar. They don’t make money disappear — they simply reduce the rate of money print.

Since the squish affects everyone equally, you don’t actually lose purchasing power, you increase it, because everyone still holds roughly the same relative amount of gold, but prices go down.

The only understandable complaint would be from people who were saving for fast flying or a mammoth and suddenly feel further away from their goal. But since the squish was announced in advance, they could have bought materials to stock up, which will rise in value again over time and be resold later.

The squish happens every damn year, everytime you have people whining, people flexing their excel sheets and stacks of things saved, its the same conversation every single time, rinse and repeat. Its done, you cannot do anything, you will not be able to do anything in the future either cause you are literally just stacking accounts with materials to outpace the squish, which is more of a waste of time.

I am writing to report a significant loss of gold on my account following the maintenance on February 16, 2026.

I am aware of the 50% Gold Squish announcement; however, I believe my gold reduction may have been handled incorrectly or I was mistakenly flagged. I was active in the game as recently as February 15, so I was not an inactive player. I have worked very hard to farm this gold, and the amount currently missing from my inventory/mailbox seems to exceed the expected 50% reduction.

Could you please verify if my account was processed correctly during the currency update?

I think they will order you to open a ticket (support tab here in very site).
I have opened a couple and they answer relatively fast.
Although the squish is programmable (scripted) so it is very unlikely it is wrong.
But anyway, open the ticket.

This is a big thing to be announced im the site. I just opened the site 2 times, when i created my account, and now after this bs, i have no business in be opening the site everyday, im just a casual in a 1x server, i play like 10 hour week, at most... if i knew that would happen, i would rushed a bit to get the 1k for my dual specialization. I had 900g and the nex day i had 450g and absolutly 0 info in game. Its that hard to send every player an in-game mail, or put a warning on login, for a thing on that proportions?! Im not agains the gold squish, but im against bad management of the server.
I played here because i didnt think Blizzard deseved my money, but looks like Warmane doesnt either.

is there any way to at least retrieve any heirlooms I had on the lost characters? I ve just lost at least 6 characters, a few of them close to level 40...

Feels easier to bash players rather than communicate properly

Also, let me edit / delete my own post in a short time frame, so Im not forced to use 2nd account when short on time

You're still dodging the main subject, which is improveable communication.

Also its bold to assume it's the same people's account. Up until very recently, it was my brothers account. Which he gave when he quit. But we all 3 under the same roof, do agree that communication could have been earlier. And we're not alone.
