I am doing disgustingly low damage compared to my equally geared prot pally mate. I am regularly the bottom of the damage in arena (15k tops) the rest of the people in are doing 80k+. Is there a good up to date guide on how to play pvp enhance at all? I saw one in the stickies from 2011 and not sure if that is still relevent :/

This guide is very good.
Dont expect to top the dmg charts in a BG. In arena it should be possible when u play beastcleave but enhance shami isnt a pure dmg class. Its more about supporting ur team mates with ofheals, kiting the enemy to avoid incoming dmg and bursting back in the right time.
That guide isn't really good but i guess it can do for the start to give you atleast some idea of how the spec works, about the damage, you shouldn't expect to be top in damage, specially in arenas. As an enhancement shaman you should be focused on ccing, manipulating enemy cc attemps, enhancing and supporting your teammate, aswell as PURGING, the thing is enhancement does more damage than you think, every shield you purge is that much less damage you gotta deal to break it. So fucus on purging, manny enhancements do the mistake and waste their ss,ll and shock that deal no damage because target has shield up, so remember never attack shields it's a waste of cooldowns damage and you don't get any mealstrom procs if you attack shields. So if you think enhancement's damage is low, take in considderation the purge.
I am purging a lot, which is why damage is low, but I'm also dying fast in arena. Very fast, maybe it is just I need practice. I played enhance when this was current content and I don't remember my survivability or damage being this bad
Also, this guide says that ft off hand is not worth it. Is it still bugged 4 years on?
Enhance shami is probably the class with the lowest dmg. In both, pvp and pve.
The spec is still viable when u play the right arena setup but its definitely one of the weaker specs on Wotlk...
Ft is for pve but FB offhand is worth it 100% this is one of the reasons that guide is ****, it suggests double windfury when in fact offhand enchanted with windfury can't even proc on molten servers, that is to prevent abuses. The damage you're taking is due to resilience bug it's really a critical bug on molten, it imbalances things drastically, it makes some specs more powerful than they should, however enhancement is one of those specs that suffer cause of that bug most.
What is the resilience bug you speak of? Also, are you sure that WF cant proc off you OH? it seems that otherwise it has no ICD coz it procs fairly often

Actually, the reason people used wf/wf on molten was the fact that windfury had verry low icd, it was bugged. On retail if you'd get offhand wf proc it would be dmg loss icd would prevent the possibility of wf procing on your manhand, and mainhand wf deals lots of more dmg than offhand, however with the low icd that molten had this was a dmg boost. Molten fixed this by simply removing the possibility of wf procing on your offhand, and resilience bug is fairly known here, resilience doesn't reduce crit chance of the enemy nor crit damage. There's a report in the tracker aswell, confirmed one. Havent you ever expirienced a two shot on 1300 resi?

Some ppl were spreading this "ICD bug" nonsense and made this bug more complicated and confusing than it really was because in fact it was really simple: The dmg calculation for the WF ofhand was just wrong.

There is a easy way to test the resilience crit reduction: Make a duel against a pvp geared player. Remove all ur gear and attack the pvp geared player with a fast weapon (u should have a low crit chance of like 5%).
Auto attack the enemy for like 10 mins and afterwards check ur recount and u will notice that u didnt land a single crit because the target is crit immun to ur attacks due to resilience.
Enhance Shaman is just a really bad spec and generally not viable. That's the problem.
I'm not positive about icd bug of wf, just what i heard, i started this server recently but what i know is that it got fixed by totally removing the chance of proc from offhand.
About the resilience thing, you can read it here https://www.warmane.com/bugtracker/report/69 it was 1st confirmed, then they claimed it works properly cause they couldn't find a problem, now they say that it's a problem with specific spells that don't take resilience into account. Whatever it is, all i know is that enhancement shamans are taking 3X the damage they take on arena tournament or for that matter most other private servers where enhancement is not completly bugged. And by the talks of other players, i'm guessing this problem affects other classes aswell. And no i'm not talking about the pve crit reduction resilience report.
Like.. come on, i did a test, equipped 1300 resilience, with wrathful shield on (+ armor, should be around 15% dmg reduce IF enemy has 0 arp) i dueled arms warrior (Not bis, far from it, he was rele/wf with sharpened and oathbringer hc, no sm around 6k-6,1k gs) i told him to just Bladestorm me, no reck, no other spells just bladestorm, guess what? He downed me from 27k 100% hp to 1k with single bladestorm, these 1k that i had left were gone almost instantly after bladestorm due to bleeds, warrior didnt even crit that much so i can't say it was the luckiest bladestorm. So there definetly is a problem with damage, and resilience even if the resilience script is correct, the fact that some spells bypass resilience is ******ed.
