How does activity rank work?

As the title says, I'm curious how the activity works, or is determined. For example, I have two accounts I use. One is more of a "main" account, which I have spent the majority of my time on since the server reset. So I log on yesterday to vote and see points are squished and activity ranks decided. My MAIN account, the one with the majority of time spent on it, has a lower rank than my "off account". Furthermore, before you all say its achievements, I have more achievements obtained on my main account as well. There is NOTHING about my "off account" that I can think of that would reflect the higher activity rank than my main account.

1.Achievements (unique achievements) on account and you might get around 0.5 from it
2.Playtime depends on how much you play it,you play on your account chars etc. If you play some good hours or ''alot'' you might get in good stanting if i am right which gives you around 0.4 or 0.5.

If you combine these two it gives you, it might give you the activity rank of envoy or ambassador which is really good.

As I said, the account with a lower amount of achievements, and very /very/ likely less game time played on it was awarded a higher rank. I don't see the logic in their system.

well I can't get any point because I don't like to farm achievement points ;( and I have less then 1k :{

The logic is simple.

You have to interact with the game to get achievement points.

If we switched to a played time system, you could simply login -> afkbot and increase your rank, no thank you.

You can earn all the way up to 1.2.

Good standing (not banned in the past) yields you with +0.5

You only need 5,000 achievement points from unique achievements across all your characters on all expansions to get +0.7 which means you're earning the highest possible amount of points daily, (12 before squish, 1.2 after).

If you happen to get banned at any point, you instantly forfeit the +0.5, meaning you need 8,000 achievement points to get 1 point per day, you can never reach 1.2 per day.

points > 8000 = +1
points > 7000 = +0.9
points > 6000 = +0.8
points > 5000 = +0.7
points > 4000 = +0.6
points > 3000 = +0.5
points > 2000 = +0.4
points > 1000 or 1000 = +0.3
points < 1000 = 0 total, good standing is not factored in here either, meaning you have to atleast play the game to begin gaining points.


Points are now a valuable entity, activity rank criteria and point increments are subject to change if we decide to include more things to factor into the amount calculation.

by unique achievements i assume it means that getting the same achievement on 10 different characters won't contribute any. you need different achievements than you already have.

thanks for the information , but that means for me i wont get past 2.5k achievement points ever :/

Have you guys considered tying it to total EoF + EoT earned and total honor/HK's farmed during a particular day. Players who play more tend to spend more of their time farming those, instead of Hunting achievements, so I personally think it'd be a better way to award activity points. Not to mention that it'd give max-geared people an incentive to run older content (which will be especially more relevant when Lord scripts for Naxx/Ulduar get ported over to the other realms), and for people to PVP more.

Hey Edifice, please can we have an estimated time of arrival for the Marketplace?

Guys he said yesterday that it will be out today, can't you just wait 1 more day...you don't really need to pester to get the exact hour/minute of release..

So the ppl that only play only on wotlk will have much harder time to earn the full 1.2 points than those playing mop.
