Clarification regarding the coin shop

Based on the following rules:

- Item availability based on realm's progression
- Items available will be 1 Tier below items obtainable in-game until all content is released in all modes
- Must have a lower tier equipped before higher item can be obtained using coins
- Item level requirement (i.e. must have Edge of Agony equipped before Fleshrender can be obtained using coins

Say, 4 weeks after Ulduar has been cleared on hardmode/zero keepers and restrictions are lifted, will players be able to purchase ilvl 239 gear provided that I have ilvl 226 gear equiped, and will this be the case for all raid tiers?

Following to the above, will players be able to just purchase 226 ilvl for coins, and then further upgrade to ilvl 239?

I hope you can clarify the above, because if players can buy the max ilvl gear with so lenient restrictions then this server is unfortunately not for me, and I would like to wish you good luck in the future.

The second item you quote already answers that.
If you can get X tier in-game, you will be able to at most get X-1 tier in the coin shop. That will be valid until the end of the content is reached and an undetermined about of time has passed after the final release, when all content will be available in the shop.

Yes, so if ilvl 239 is obtainable in game, you can straight out buy 226 ilvl gear until Ulduar HC is cleared + X amount of time, at which point ilvl 239 is also obtainable for coins.

I am sorry to hear this because the server is good, but being able to straight out deck your character in BiS-gear because your wallet is fat is not really flying with my guild.

You will also need to own the previous item tier to be able to buy the available tier-1 item.
Besides that, what can I say... the servers need to be funded. Blizzard doesn't needs donations because they have a monthly fee to cover their costs. We don't.

Don't worry.

It is a smart system and will prevent 99% of people from having 100% BiS as soon as they hit lvl 80. The most it will do is get a few players raid-ready faster and the rest don't have to grind for as many emblems as non-full-donors.

Yes, a small percentage of donors (already a small percentage of all Warmane players) will be able to deck their characters out pretty quickly, but the rumors spreading around and "roughly" ( Obnoxious ;) ) whispered by the staff say that the prices for donor gear on Lordaeron will be much higher than those of the other realms. This will lead to significantly less players donating for full X-1 Tier characters, and even less X Tier characters. But, it will still give some players the option to "nitpick" what they don't want to bother rolling on, i.e. hard to get trinkets, or a weapon to help increase dmg, that last X-1 Tier or X Tier set piece, etc.

Though, you can attempt to dismiss anything I've said, this is a smart move by Warmane. Private Servers need funding, but they don't want everyone to have everything too quickly, so they're forcing people to pay up more than ever if they want to buy their way to the top, or play the game the way it was meant to be played but with the option of a helping hand, for a price.

This system looks fine to me.

On top of that, the top-quality level of this server deserve a gratification. For the first time, I'm thinking of giving some money to a private server. Not for stuff, but to help and thanks them.

Most private servers don't have a sliver of the infrastructure of servers and Staff that we do and have to maintain. It's easy to not require donations when you're running a sever on a Pentium in your backyard.

If you truly believe that Warmane could be funded with 20 dollars a month from some pets, you are so wrong. The amount of users requires quite the bit of hardware. Believe me, I've hosted a WoW server as well.

WoW private servers of this scale, with this staff, and this performance, are NOT hosted by some game pc in someone's basement.

Yea, paid staff would explain it but then we could go into the moral side of running a private WoW server for profit, otherwise I know servers with average 5k people online that make over 40k euros a year (I have this number from publicly accessible tax return) just from vanity items shop which is more than enough to fund the hardware.

20 bucks a month from pets? You have to have lived in a cave for the past 5 years when the f2p model of gaming has been on the rise, I guess those games with millions of active players are ran on a PC in someone's basement as well, since they do NOT provide any form of p2w. Using lack of finances as an excuse for p2w is just silly, as there is pretty much no successful game (excluding browser "games") with this model, it has actually killed quite a bit of games. You can just read through these forums to realize how happy the community is that there is introduced at least some kind of limitation to this "donor bull****" on new Lordaeron.

The moral side of people with specific skills and who dedicate often more than regular work hours and do it as a job? I'm going to assume you mean the moral side of us not being based on slave work.

You haven't mentioned anything about you running a business with that model, so I'm going to assume you don't have any first-hand factual scope of how a private server is run or what running them entails, and are simply using third-party information, possibly on different games, to say "they can do it, do it too."

Anyways, seriously... if there's wonderful servers with 5000 people and with a shop that suits your interests better, why are you complaining and being disappointed with ours? Strikes me as a waste of time for everyone involved, and nothing else.

The games you mentioned that aren't pay-to-win rely heavily on "rolling" gear (enchanting/crafting etc. which their SYSTEM makes god awfully hard (with such a high reliance on terrible RNG). Yes, you can do it by grinding out all the mats, etc. But, without the items from "Cash Shops" the odds of getting any decent +X item is absurdly low. So, their "not-pay-to-win" model called "pay-for-convenience" (a child of the "pay-to-win" model..) is a just another way of making it "pay-to-win" without calling it so.

WoW, was not built like those systems. If WoW went "pay-for-convenience" then all profession mats would be listed in the Cash Shop which would absolutely destroy any thing to do with the economy in-game. Instead, they let people buy armor and weapons (accessories too, but other systems match that so it's a moot point) instead.

Regardless of your opinion on the matter, which we are glad to read it and offer civilized rebuttal, the current state of the Cash Shop is the system that molds to WoW. It is almost guaranteed income, and it has proven itself to be very effective for Warmane. It is here to stay with some adjustments along the way, but in essence the core system will remain in place.

To answer the "limitation..donor bull.." remark, naturally, those that see others with what they want, but they do not themselves have will generate resentment and jealousy. It happens time after time. Just something you have to live with in the current state of the world. But, yes most of us (even some of us donors) are glad that restrictions are placed on Lordaeron. It has made a lot of people rethink how they play WoW.
