Lordaeron leveling question

I'm currently running 10x druids with a goal of 25 total characters and currently both teams are at level 12 and it has been an agonizing path there. It is simply impossible for me to try to do gathering quests; even with a five man team they are very painful to do. For whatever reason the quest item drops off of mobs seem to only be around 1 in 6 which is incredibly low.

Is everyone just grinding and doing killing quests or is there something I'm missing? 10 box leveling should not be anywhere near as slow as it is now.

Collection quests test the mettle of multi-boxers, skipping them will make it harder for you in the long run. Each quest you skip will slow your progression, at least when you spend time to complete a quest you are getting turn in XP, when you skip a quest you get nothing while the amount of XP it takes to level up remains the same. Quests where you have to collect items that are on the ground etc. may seem to be less rewarding in regard to time spent than quests where you have to kill mobs for a chance to loot an item(s) to be collected seeing as the latter at least grants XP per kill so even if you have to go through a number of mobs to complete it for all the characters you are getting XP from mobs as well as when turning in the quest but at the same time the other type of collection quests grants XP at the end instead of during as well.

I would rather deal with collection quests than simply grinding, you can grind while quest items are respawning though.

I dont know if it works on Lordaeron but on the other realms its possible to loot quest items with the whole party when all characters loot the mob at the same.
Just go with ur team to the killed mob so everybody is in loot range and then use iwt. Auto loot need to be enabled and the loot set to FFA.

This is why I run dungeons when I box. I always set one of my toons up to be a tank and another to be a healer and I hope between dungeons and questing and it makes things go so much smoother. Yes you can only level 5 at a time in a dungeon, but i'd rather back track and level the same toons again and again then trying to bring all 10 or 20, whatever, up at the same time.

Doesn't always work though for whatever reason(s), sometimes all can loot, sometimes only a few. What I have noticed though is that sometimes after 1 character completes the quests the remaining 4 can collect the quest items at the same time, even then it isn't always guaranteed.

In order to overcome this I press the shift button at the same time as my IWT key so they all open loot on the corpse but don't auto loot. Wait around 250ms and then press it again. Seems to work every time for me.

If this works I'm going to be extremely happy.

I guess I'm gonna have to suck it up and do gathering quests ten times, thanks for the advice everyone.

No dice

Even before I have tried all sorts of different combination of looting (including the kind you suggested), I tried it yet again just to see and the same things happen; some quests all/most can loot, some quests only 1 can loot. In both cases even if the loot window is open on all characters.

One day five hours played halfway to 14, is that unusually slow?

Since the server reboot earlier for patching quest item drop rates appear to be much higher.

Leveling speed varies by the player/class(s) they play with. At 1 day 4 hours I had 5 characters to level 20 with professions as well.

By doing some ridiculous speedleveling with quests and doing no mumbojumbo and doing everything as optimally as possible I have managed to hit 22 in 8 hours played. Yet, leveling to 28 took me 16 hours more totalling 1 day of game play time.

(Belves starting areas OP)

Anyone know if there are any Alliance multiboxing guilds? I already have the guild Fedex for my characters.

This was achieved with 5 paladin team oneclicking everything on it's path.
