I have the same problem
The server was under heavy DDOS attack, after that we have connection problems.
It's Problemception, or what we Molten (Warmane) players call, a normal day. They will fix it eventually ETA 1-2hrs
They need to put realm offline and get the problem fixed cuz this is getting annoying.
Frostwolf had this problem some hours before the DDoS attack and even yestarday evening so maybe it is not releated to DDoS.Quote:

So, I got the MoP (old) and when it downloaded, start the game from Wow_WOD_models because the other one doesn't work. Then, when i login it freezes on the "retrieving character list" and I can't do anything. Should I wait for the new launcher to come out? Is there a way to run the game from the laucher without WOD models? Maybe that's the problem? I am a releatively new player, Played for a while on Lordaeron (almost a week) and I really feel like giving MoP a try, especially since WotLK is kinda hard for me idk why. Also, pandas.
@skullbashat Ye I know. The problems might not be connected (ha get it? CONNECTED) I'm just saying after they deal with one thing there are a few right around the corner. Well at least Lordaeron seems to be fine. Hurray!
since that MoP 5.4.2 version has WoD models you need to start the game with WoW_WoD_models.exe, not WoW.exe but I see you have already realized that.
Now the "retrieving chars list" proem is a general issue, we have to wait Staff fix it.
Anyway remember that Frostwolf will be upgraded to 5.4.8 on 26 January so you can start to downlaod it right now to be ready that day

I've been wondering if I should play on Lordaeron or here, and even without playing yet I feel like MoP will prove more fun.
I literally spend the whole day today wondering about what race and class I want to play. Damn my indecisiveness!
