Are the Old Gods the good guys?? (Long post)

Okay first of all i'm not a lore master like Nobbel87 or Dorrons, you can correct me if i wrong.
We all know that Azeroth long time ago ruled by the Old Gods and with the Elemental Lords as their lieutenant, they formed the very first empire The Black Empire. Then the Titans came kicking the Old Gods asses ruining their empire, killing one of them, imprison the rest. The side effects from killing Y'shaarj are corrupting the Pandaria, so they imprison the rest than create their own creation to rebuild Azeroth. From my perspective the Old Gods bring peace to the Azeroth, just look at the Elemental Lords before the Old Gods came, they're fighting each other make the world chaos and unhabitable, then the Old Gods came create The Black Empire and the Elemental Lords once works together as their servant. Now the Titans, they attacks Azeroth to "end chaos" but instead they make chaos, with the destruction of Black Empire they create their own creation, by the right word "Enslaving" (Anybody who plays Fallout 4 will understand *cough Synth *cough). Then Yogg Saron then give them "curse of flesh" and free will?? I see this "curse of flesh" as gift, it give us feeling to be alive and free will from the enslavement. Remember Algalon? He want to eradicate all life on Azeroth because it's not quite what Titans was planned, this statement clearly show that Titans want to act like a God, by mean dictatorship. The Chaos Makers thing are just perspective, nothing is pure evil, if the Old Gods came to make chaos they can simply destroy life on Azeorth, but they didn't.

Old Gods come from the idea of the Void Lords. They stand for nothing sans darkness, misery and shadow.

In reality Sargeras is not really evil, he's fighting the shadow and trying to save the universe but in his mind, the end justifies the means. Azeroth itself is a world with a powerful world soul which is why Old Gods (void lords) are attempting to capture it and why titans are also fighting to have it not captured.

However, Sargeras found a simpler solution. Blow up Azeroth, problem solved. So right now we, the characters, are a weird combination that rose from all sources of the universe because all parts of the universe converged on this world which is pretty much the last stand on the universe. The main villains in the end will be the Void Lords and our heroes, characters or whatever you call them get more powerful by every day which is why Blizzard took the focus on our characters as time passes and in the end we'll be the one who decide the fate.

You'll be able to read more about the lore in the upcoming book which releases on the 15th, should be an interesting read.

Yeah i know the book The Chronicle. Okay, you said darkness and shadow are evil?? What about priest, they use shadow, fear, and darkness to accomplish their goal. There must be balance, if one of the composition win the world will unbalanced so there's no pure evil, Old Gods have purpose more than just make Chaos. Second you said Sargeras is not really evil so are the Old Gods, Sargeras found Azeroth because of the well of the eternity, not because he feel shadow presence in the Azeroth. He invade planet Argus, shattering Draenor, he do this for something right?

Good? Certainly no. An argument might be made that they are not wholly evil, but rather chaotic.

Although this could change depending on what more we learn of the Old Gods.

Yeah I hope so maybe qe find the true purpose of Old Gods, "Warcraft isn't about good guys fighting bad guys, but heroes from both side avoiding conflicts but villains leave them no choice" -Duncan Jones. So I think Titan, Na'aru / Elune, Old Gods, Sargeras, and else none of them bad or good they're fighting for their own purpose, but people will say "no this side should be evil, he make a nightmare like playable murlocs so it's a retcon". Except Gul'dan he's the real pure evil, he trick his kind, than trick Kiljaden the deceiver who trick him, he do this for power, he doesn't forced to be evil.

And also what made Illidan a half-demon he is now.

And I thing Legion Expansion last boss if not Sargeras himself or atleast pretty strong avatar, is Gul'dan, other candidates doesn't strong enough in story wise and power wise. If he still alive somehow, the threat is not yet done. Also 2 Gul'dan skull will be awesome POWAAH

By the way, if my reading material in wowwiki is right, Sargeras became what he is now due to constant fighting against the demons, and particularly the Nathrezim(Dreadlords) right?

Mal'Ganis also plays a part on turning Arthas evil as well. It didn't go well for him, but still...

Balnazzar and Mal'Ganis also turned the Scarlet Crusade into a band of insane crusaders.

Who's more evil now, Gul'dan or the Dreadlords?



Also, I always feel that whatever problems Azeroth faces are always revolving around Old Gods and Burning Legion.

The Scourge comes from the Burning Legion.
The Horde invasion in the First War comes from the Burning Legion
Naga comes from the Burning Legion (Highborne) and the Old Gods (their turning to Naga)
Black Dragonflight is turned insane by the Old Gods
Silithid and Qiraji comes from the Old Gods
Twilight Hammer is turned into cult that worships the Old Gods

List goes on...

Well it's right but next time use Wowpedia or Wowhead, WowWiki are abandoned since Mists of Pandaria. But Sargeras being corrupted by Nathrezim is what we only know, and it's maybe half true, The Old Gods corrupting you by giving power beyond your limit and promising more, so it's logical enough that they can easily manipulate powerful beings like Neltharion for example, now Nathrezim, what do they promise to Sargeras? Power? Whole Burning Legion lose because Sargeras so i dont think Sargeras foolish enough to beleive that, some people said Sargeras become mad because Evil are everywhere and he cant stop it. In this case i'm agree with Proterean . He said "In reality Sargeras is not really evil, he's fighting the shadow and trying to save the universe..... Sargeras found a simpler solution. Blow up Azeroth, problem solved" . He cant do that because he's a Titans who brings order, and his fellow friend will hate Sargeras idea. So to make this happen he free Burning Legion from prison and command them to hunt every evil on world (not just Azeroth), The Old Gods not only exist on Azeroth but in other planet too, just like what Harbinger Skyris (C'thun servant) said "We are countless as stars". What makes Azeroth unique is the people of Azeroth can defend all threat but doesnt even know threat from within, so Sargeras want to destroy Azeroth AT ALL COST because it's such powerfull place and at any time Old Gods can retaken it. So now next question who's more evil?? Gul'dan, not like Nathrezim that completely created with Disorder from very deep heart and nobody can changes that, now see Gul'dan he's a normal orc that then make pact with Kiljaden to trick his kind to attack Azeroth for exchange a power. Then after he discovered Tomb of Sargeras which yield more power, he betray Ogrimm Doomhammer at Invasion of Lordaeron by pulling most of the troop during battle to accompany him to venture the Tomb of Sargeras. He's not like Nathrezim, but acts worse than Nathrezim, Nathrezim had a code that Nathrezim should never killed his own kind or Nathrezim that killed by Nathrezim will be dead forever, only one who break the code and it was STAGED, Balnazzar still alive. Gul'dan on the other side want evil from his deepest heart even his heart didn't made from evil like Nathrezim.

Yes problem always revolving between Old Gods and Burning Legion, because it's how they make balance to the world. You cant blame mouse for eating your cable that cause fire hazards because it's from their nature. Rat isn't evil right? Because we understand them

One more thing Highborne doesnt come from Burning Legion. Highborne are Upper class elven that use arcane power, some of them exiled because addicted to magic then become high elves, most of them became Naga after they drowned because The Sundering (Destruction of well of eternity). Highborne become Naga after Old Gods (maybe N'zoth) offer great power to them and can save them right now.

Yeah uh, I meant to say that they're somewhat getting themselves allied with the Burning Legion. I meant to say the incident. Sorry for being too ambiguous there.

Well, actually in their case the Highborne was the one involuntarily summoned the Burning Legion into Azeroth in the first place.

Yes, Well of Eternity attract Burning Legion then make contact with Highborne. Under Azshara command they help Burning Legion summon Sargeras himself, which mean Sargeras really want Azeroth badly

Just 1 correction!
First the Titan created Azeroth and left it be itself, than the Old Gods came and made the chaos, than the Titan came back to stop them (they saw that the Old Golds are already part of Azeroth and if they kill them they will destroy Azeroth itself, thats why they imprisoned them). Ah and no one ever said it out loud that Y'shaarj is an Old God ... not even Chris Metsen, who's the main story creator of the Lore!

Sargeras has right. Azeroth should be destroyed. Its a lesser evil.

And humans should be destroyed in our planet if we want Earth to live.

Sargeras also realised that constant fighting a chaos is a waste of time and effort and he realised that maybe chaos is a normal thing and fighting against it is not normal state of universe. Maybe he is right
