hi
i never played tbc so i have no idea what works and what doesnt
i like the idea of big swings, crits and high burst dmg
in grp fights running in and wrecking havoc but also be able to go out in the world and wpvp
so what are your experiences playing with or against the two classes?
why would you pick one over the other?
pve is onaly a side factor but it is appreciated if some1 can do a tl;dr for this part aswell if viable or not

Warrior if you are skilled, ret if your not
war is monster if there is someone to heal you.ret seems better if you plan to solo.
Ret if you're good and you know for a fact you'll find a good Shaman (or just someone willing to practise a lot).
Warrior has a really low skill floor. Every clicking ****** can play one to ~2k or so.
Above that, you need to be extremely good and have tons of awareness, because otherwise people will just **** on you.
For ret you basically have to be good across the board. But you can do as well if not better than warriors. Of course this doesn't apply to world PvP as much, but it's the general gist on how these classes work.
i will be kind of a noob as i just recently got interesseted in this type of playstyle through a different game (before i was into mage, wl in vanilla/wrath expecially)
so now we have to people here saying the complete opposite 1: warr need skill, ret does not - 2: ret needs skill, warr does not (up to a point)
so , what is it? :D
then what does apply to wpvp?
Dont play ret. They are bad. Ive yet to see a good one in tbc
Here is what you need to know. Warriors are a great pvp class with a dedicated healer. They DO take skill and time to master and believe me when I say that you will probably get angry alot when you are first learning them. Once you get the gear to sustain yourself without heals for a bit in pvp they become far more enjoyable.
Ret is not a very effective playstyle until Season 3 - Once season 3 is released ret become very viable and they tend to walk through most classes ( albeit, healers will usually just heal through you; but if you have a rogue/warrior/hunter with you, it will be fine.) They become a great part of the warrior/pally/shaman 3's team to cleave through the competition.
Other than that it is up to you :)

what i gathered so far is:
in arena
ret requiers a certain amout of base knowledge about its class (and others?) even at beginning to climb ranks and with steady progress in skill, knowledge and gameplay ret can reach pretty high (2.4kk if done correctly and with rshaman?)
warr on the other hand need less base knowledge to be able to get to 2k just because of its mechanics but hits a wall after that and can only go higher if the player learns a lot more about his own class, other classes and playstyles, which at that point can be realy frustrating after the first breeze
but how are they in terms of bgs and wpvp is it a lot different or other things to consider when picking one of the two?

warrior is gods with pocket healers and pretty bad w/o healer in bg.rets are nothing special but they do fine in BG.
if you ask me go warrior.its solid class that perform well in every aspect of the game.i was also going to roll warrior but last week was playing BM hunter and jutt love it so much that change my mind to BM for PVP.
Warrior takes quite a bit of skill to be honest if you dont know what you're doing you're gonna get kited for days
- No Charge while in combat
- Your only mobility once in combat is Intercept which has a hefty CD and a rage cost aside from that you have Intervene which can only be used on allies
- The TBC Warrior has almost nothing in common with the Warrior of the modern age
- Shield Wall , Recklessness and Retaliation all have 30 MIN CD yes half an hour CD so use em wisely
- Stance Dancing is something you need to know how to do although there are probably plenty of guides by now on "How to"
TIPs
- In 2V2 go with Holy Paly he can give you slow and root immunity remove most CCs from you / Bubbles will save both you and him from tight spots / He wears Plate in a age where the Armor Stat mattered and was overrun with Rogues with Glavies and Gruuls Spine trinket
- Second best partner is Resto Dudu / He can CC 1 enemy to give a kill window on the other / Doesnt use much mana and mana mattered in TBC it could easily be depleted / Can escape quite easily if focused due to the various forms
- Go Mace Spec in PvP you will need all the CC you can get believe me
- Go for the Improved Hamstring Talent same reason as above
- Go for the Last Stand talent - You dont have Enraged Regeneration also Shield Wall and Retaliation are on huge CDs you will need all the defensives you can get
- Dont Dedicate to one talent tree the beauty of TBC is that you can really build your own character the way you want them for example my build in TBC for the longest time looked like this http://calculators.iradei.eu/talents...00000000000000 - I really hated fighting Rogues thus this specific build but alot of the talents are interchangleable
