Scourge Strike and Crit Chance

48.08% Melee Crit Chance + 6% from Talents
38.03% Spell Crit Chance

I know crit is now beeing reduced by 4.8% when facing bosses, but that should be -1.8%. considering the constant 3% crit increase debuff from Ret paladins.

So, 52.28% Crit and im nowhere near that % on all Bosses...
This i noticed even on a dummy, where my crit chance wont get past 30-40%.
I also noticed this before, but never at such amount and diference, before the -4.8% crit when facing bosses was fixed.

Is Scourge Strike taking the Spell Crit chance number instead of Melee, and/or is there any bug im not aware of???

it's just % bad luck for it........ few days ago on one boss i had 70% crit on ss and on second boss it was less then 50% so it is just like for fire mage total rng :/

The thing is, I feel lucky to have normal crit %...

I know its RNG but crit is always more or less arround ur actual %, +/- 5%. That goes for every DPS/spec i played (and i only didnt play Shaman), exept Unholy DK. Crit % on both Scourge Strike and Death Coil is ****ed up for as long as i play on this server. Like how do u explain that on 8/10 3min dummy runs i always have a lot less crits happening?

I guess i can give it couple of more tests in and outside of the raids, but the point of this post is to try and find someone who can eather explain whats going on or help me test it, or test urself and see if there is anything wrong here...

P.S. i noticed the glyph part after the whole raid, in which i was wondering how can the other DK do sooo much more when it comes to disease and DC dmg... xD

did few more, but it was all same with + / - 2 or 3% crit, only HoW and bone shield

So you are saying that Vicious Strikes is not working? Maybe even Ebon Plaguebringer bonus 3% crit chance?

Or almost 10% lower crit rate is acceptable?

Well idk what is problem, but after update that was few weeks ago i saw dps loss for about 1.5 - 2k for udk on single target

so maybe this is that problem

Yea, it feels like something is off...

I remeber before the 6% Crit Increase talent (Vicious Strikes) wasnt working properly, and that Scourge Strike was getting crit chance from Spells instead of Melee.

Again, crit table on targets that are 3 levels higher than us, aka boss targets (skull, lvl 83), should be reduced by 4.8% cos of their defence rating.
So, if u had 50% Crit Chance via gear, add 6% on Scourge Strike from talent, 3% from Ret paladin debuff, and reduce the 4.8%.
Total crit % should be: 54.2%

I also noticed that once u get past 50% of crit chance (51%+) crit on Scourge Strike rockets way too much sometimes.

I really dont know whats the problem here, but my point is this:
Ur Scourge Strike should not be doing less Crit than ur Melee Strikes cos of the 6% Crit Chance increase talent (when it comes to % of total hits).
Every other ability works perfectly fine on almost every class, and yes i know crit is RNG based, but its always CLOSE (+/- 1 to 5%).

gnimo, did you tested this things, and i think something is wrong with fdk dk dmg but far less then with udk, but idk what is problem

did some testing in raid tonight and full buffed i have 44% crit and at the end of fight scourge strike is 80% normal hit and 20% crit so yea, something is ****ed up

Nope, i didnt do any, lets call it "serious" testing...

I really dont have the time nor i want to make a bug report that will just sit there for months. :D

Ok I am blood so I can test only subversion and improved deathstrike:
1.First of all dark I have additional 5% crit from dark conviction that is not counted in the character sheet https://imgur.com/a/kCkJs.
2.https://imgur.com/a/Yqr8Y 1000+ hs on training dummy 29% crit chance on hs.
3.https://imgur.com/a/ji3PO death strike 27,8% crit chance.
4.My actual crit chance was 25,37% +5% conviction -4,8%=25,57%
25,57% +9(subversion)=34,57 - this should be actual crit chance on hs however it's only 29%
25,57+6(improved deathstrike)%=31,57% but was 27,8%

Edit1: Pardon I can test this talent on plague strike will edit once more after tests.

last night around 10 timers i was looking at, was like 8 of them was 17-23% crit and 2 of them was under ****ing 10% crit ..... :O

How i see it there is 1 out of 2 posibilities.

1st, Vicious Strikes not working properly
or
2nd, Scourge Strike taking crit % from spells.

Maybe its both, i dont know, but i know that there is something wrong with Scourge Strikes Crit Chance from long time ago, i simply didnt care that much tbh.

I doubt il be able to do any tests, but the best way to get as much Scourge Strikes for the least amount of time is to go spec like this:

Be in unholy presence and just do this:
SS > SS > BS > BS > SS > SS > SS > HoW > repeat...
Do atleast 100 Scourge Strikes before u stop and screenshot. (200-500 would be perfect, if u really want to waste ur time).

Do NOT use DBW or any other trinket that can give u more crit chance, via Proc, that u alrdy passivly have.

U can all do this and link recounts here, the bigger the sample size is the better.

I think vicious strikes works for plague strike atleast.
I'll switch to unholy and test with scourge strike soon maybe.
