Some way to improve the 1 - 80 experience

Hi guys, I apologize in advance if this thread is in the incorrect place, I tried posting this in Suggestions but it wouldn't allow me to make a new topic.

I'm a newer player on Warmane and I've been trying to get to level 80, but to put it bluntly it's been a painful experience. Beyond the fact that nobody wants you in their guild unless you're ready to raid right away, removing a lot of the social aspect from the game, the actual player base is extremely toxic. I've talked to other members of the server who seem to agree that there is a serious issue with the player base. I've been stuck in the early level 60's for days because every dungeon I join (not an exaggeration), there is at least one player who is toxic, goes afk, queues the wrong role/wrong spec, or doesn't even speak English, making team communication nearly impossible.

I'm not pretending to know the exact way to solve this problem, or even if it is a solvable problem, but I wanted to share my honest thoughts about the experience I've been having on the server to see if anyone else shares some of my opinions. I'm honestly getting to the point of quitting because it's just not fun to constantly join groups who flame you, or groups you can't even communicate with.

I have leveled multiple characters on the Icecrown realm without doing any dungeons while leveling. Even when I leveled my one character on Lordaeron to 70 I did very few dungeons, one of each for the quests and that's it.

Players being toxic is nothing new and it won't change, we're playing an ancient game at this point and everything you need to know about it is available on the internet so there's no excuse for being bad except being lazy and not wanting to improve. If you don't want to be treated like a noob, stop being one!

Extremely toxic playerbase? You must be coming from recent retail expansions. Uncontrollable outdoor PvP is important part of its charm. But sure, server having players from half of the globe and not being PvE resort is OFC sign of bad community. Not you just being immature selfcentric person, who judges whole server by several randoms he/she encountered.
TLDR - there is no need to improve any leveling experience because it is already smoth and pleasant.

The fact that your response to me offering my honest opinions (that are not uncommon btw) is to call me immature and self centered, I hate to say it but you're proving my point. I really don't know why you bothered to respond if this is what you had to say.

Welp, maybe because there is not only yours opinion? Or everyone should agree with you? Uncommon on what scale, where? If you think that 1-2 posts per week about "filthy gankers" is somewhat large, you are totally wrong. With somewhat close to 18k players online at any time beside night, it is safe to assume that we have around 70k unique players on daily basis. See how actually insignificant are "uncommon" opinions you've refered to?

I made it clear this is my opinion, you aren't obligated to agree with it, but it's an opinion that's informed by my own experience. I've leveled by myself going through questing zones and dungeons and I can tell you that I am not the only one dealing with this. It's not "several instances" of toxicity, I am not exaggerating when I tell you that the majority of groups I've joined have been toxic. In one instance I had someone create multiple accounts to go out of their way to harass me just because they were mad they wiped in a dungeon.

I can already tell this thread is not going to be productive. I was hoping to spark a dialogue but your rush to defend the server, ignoring basically everything I said in the original post, along with insulting me personally, yeah I don't think this had the affect I was hoping for. So mods if you want to lock or delete this thread feel free.

But what do you want people to do, give out free alprazolam to players so they are more chill? I understand where you're coming from, but you also have to understand the impossibility of changing the culture of a community that has thousands of members. There isn't much that can be done beyond "be the change that you want to see".

What OP wants is thousands of people to applaud at his "unique" view on Warmane's players. Then he'll call for election to become the new president of Warmane, and of course he will win it and make drastic change "for the better" by banning "toxic" players. Standing ovations!

People call others toxic, but they keep fueling the fire with their own actions against toxic players.

I'm certain OP caused wipe, and he got yelled at. Then he proceeds to yell back (insults flying both ways). He then ties to get out, but somebody has more fuel to burn so they'll start whispering OP. OP decides to engage in dialogue with the toxic player, giving him more fuel to burn. OP gets tired and ignores the said player. Well the said player wants to keep going, so they log a new character and keep on triggering OP.

You've been stuck on early 60's for days? Why haven't you moved to other zones and continued leveling via questing?

Grow a bit thicker skin, perhaps?

I really don't know what is wrong with you. Are you incapable of engaging in good faith with anything? You assume my intent, you assume that I'm lying about the actual toxicity that I've faced in game repeatedly. It's not an issue of gaining a thicker skin, I made it clear my main issue was that this was making LFG content unplayable. And regardless of that, why should I have to put up with people flaming every dungeon? Why are you okay making excuses for terrible behavior while insinuating I'm actually the bad guy?

I've already made the decision to quit this server so it doesn't matter much anymore, but wow the responses on this thread have seriously blown me away. Zero self reflection, zero time spent actually thinking about things from the honest perspective of a new player, completely engaging in bad faith on every point. I have nothing else to say except that if this is how you want your community to be, you will continue to drive away more and more players.

But you've chose to make drama post about some strangers hurting you (in open world PvP) and some blatant claims with no evidences about each and every RDF group being "toxic" and hurting your feelings, leaving with long-term physiological trauma. Exaggerated BTW.

You were saying how bad i am, while i help any Horde/Ally player in PvE troubles on sight, give whatever blue/green item i have in bags to new players that i encounter in old world, even run them through dungeons if have time.
Another BTW: it is exactly about growing thick skin and/or becoming mature (not getting hurt by any phrase from internet strangers). I've leveled 7 characters to 80 over 3 years, gearing twink ATM. So it is safe to say that i've encountered much more "toxic" RDF groups. And know what? They all were totally fine. I had only 1 bad experience - lunatic tank voted to kick me out near end (so that i won't get satchel) after i carried group through Deadmines. That's all.

So if you want to express your hurted feelings - feel free to create blog about it somewhere else.

You've responded to my thread 3 times now and every response is less intelligent than the last. If you were capable of reading when this thread was started, it was about a day ago. I was on the verge of quitting as I said, and after seeing the disregard you have for players like me, who clearly care enough to try to talk with other players on the forum about a problem they're having, I just became even more convinced that this was not a community I wanted to be a part of.

Every single argument you've put forth has been an incoherent straw man. It actually makes me question whether or not you're trolling. First of all, how exactly would I provide "evidence" of my toxic groups? Do you want me to upload screenshots I have of me getting harassed? Is that enough to prove to you that it might be possible some players have a different experience in the game than you? That your own subjective experience isn't universal? When did I say my feelings were hurt? Or that this caused me psychological trauma? Do you realize how ridiculous and childish you sound?

I'll say it again, you've literally only proved my point in this thread. I try to start an honest dialogue in hopes of finding some way to want to continue playing when I haven't been having a good experience so far. You get butthurt thinking I directly called you out as a toxic player (when anyone who plays WoW will admit the community is toxic in general, for you to get personally offended over this is just pearl clutching so seriously stop it) and immediately start throwing personal insults my way, disregarding my experience as made-up to start drama. I don't know why you chose to engage at all with this thread when you contributed absolutely nothing other than wasting my time. You are the one stuck in your feelings right now, so please stop projecting.

i dont know how you level mate but you should get 70 in a couple hours of questing or even less if you find bored *** guy to help kill a group of mob for you.
most of the players here have leveled multiple toons. either they get their friends to kill mobs.. just spam in chat for help..
or.. they man up and do quests. with 7x realm you should be lvl 80 in couple of days :D

About people being toxic.. i will quote someone i read on the forum. " unless you tell people specifically that you are new and need help and are ready to hear some *****s . there are people who genuinely help low level toons. all you have to do is ask " .

but you chose the better way.. you made a post on forums.. and kept answering people.. instead of leveling.. GG

Nobody is denying toxic players don't exist, and we understand your views, we probably shared them when we 1st started playing (here).

The thing is, however, people need to learn how to deal with toxic players, or not to deal with them at all. It's not worth your time nor attention to start engaging with every toxic player you ever come across. Learn to tolerate those miserable ****s who you'll meet every day. Don't let them get under your skin. What they want from you is an reaction, once they get it, they've won. You should stop caring about toxic players, nothing good will ever come from it.
Not everybody who seems toxic are actually toxic, most people have the mind set of "don't you dare to hinder my play". People often take internet language of few insults to be toxic. They are more used as a quick emphasize of frustration/disappointment, or even in some cases "why didn't you say you didn't know this?". I've seen people go from "are you fcking ******" to "what you need to do is stay out of the green poison on the floor, so you don't die again" within two lines of chat. Probably done that few times myself..

RDF is a place where people tolerate much less than in raids, or where the barrier to trash talk is .. non existent. It's your quickmatch equivalent of CoD/BF/LoL/Dota/OW where if something doesn't go your way, you start/stir up some ****. Or you do drama regardless, just to have some "fun". Without care of what happens after the match, as you probably aren't going to meet them anytime soon. Or if you do, you probably have forgotten the whole thing ever happened.

We all know this. We all know we can't ever change this. What you can do is find those nice players and stick with them in guilds, discord etc. and not let the toxic players get under your skin.

"There is always toxicity" is not an acceptable argument. The toxicity is rampant here, and there are many players who would be permabanned anywhere else.

No they won't.
every bloody online game has this or more level or toxicity.
every try playing Dota / Lol in SEA servers. you will get abused for 30 mins straight in a a language you dont even know and you can only mute them.
learn to ignore. continue to improve. and **** rest of it.
