Lordaeron still worth it?

Hey guys i want to start playing on Lordaeron i have been playing WoW over 16 years Retail+Warmane mostly i am veteran of WoW this way but i dont have any friends on Lordaeron.
I know literally everything about wotlk and i am tired of playing Icecrown so wana start fresh.
Is there any guild that looking for fresh people to play with i have done literally everything in Warmane Wotlk and Retail on heroic difficulity. If there is anyone please let me know i would be happy to join. (Can play many classes but perfer Paladin either Holy or Retribution really no matter)

<Can someone tell me more about Lordaeron?>
1. Is there any pugs on Global or you need a guild?
2. What is more PvE focused Alliance or Horde or both?

3. What tips you would give me for LORDAERON or anything else.

1. Yes to PUG's. Still, finding a guild is recommended.
2. Horde, but it's quite balanced in the end.
3. You'll run into many random players, so thick skin is good to have. Read rules.

Lordaeron is by far the better realm. The proper xp rate, no buying gear, more challenging pve, and just a way better community that has more time invested in the game and cares more about fair play and being decent or having a good reputation.

A tip I would give is enjoy the leveling and gearing up process, its actually part of the game on Lordaeron.

If it were the better realm the population would represent it.

Lordaeron is NOT the better realm, it's a x1 exp realm with custom tuned content balanced specifically for extremely hardcore min/maxing. Dungeons have buffed content, bosses have more hp, take longer to farm, etc. Raids have extremely buffed and much more difficult fights with bosses having very low enrage timers and much higher health pools.
If your goal is to wipe in every pug and struggle to kill even less bosses when pugging, then yes Lordaeron is bis.
Lordaeron raiding is pretty much only possible in guilds and good guilds at that. Learning is not advised on this server.
I recommend if you are able to have a stable schedule and desire extremely hardcore raiding to play on Lordaeron.

Otherwise you should play on icecrown. The only difference on icecrown from original wrath is x3 gold and professions leveling, which is not deactivateable, and x7 exp which can be lowered from x7 down to x5, x3, x1 or x0.5, and you can level at whatever rate you'd like. The end-game content is the same as vanilla.

Lordaeron:
-Longer time doing dungeons
-Buffed dungeon content leading to an even longer grind when farming dungeons
-Extremely buffed and very difficult raid content, custom tuned for hardcore min/maxers
-Enforced x1 exp rates with no control over increasing your leveling speed
-x1 gold rates and profession leveling
-Lower population, only having a lot of players during European prime-time

Icecrown:
Vanilla/retail like dungeons
Vanilla/Retail like raids
Adjustable exp rates allowing for an enjoyable x1 exp rate OR changing it to slower or faster to 0.5, 1, 3, 5 or 7
Unchangeable increased gold rates ofx3
Unchangeable increase profession exp rates of x3
Much higher population, always has players at all times.

Some incorrect info here; Only RAIDS on Lordaeron have increased HP; even level 60 and level 70 raids for some reason. Dungeons are unchanged. Raids just are tuned to have more HP, hit harder, and bosses enrage faster. Also in ICC the 30% buff does not exist, but in return Sindi and LK hp in ICC are practically the same as on Icecrown, basically unchanged to doing a buff-less run on Icecrown.

Most Lordaeron players are not minmaxers and pass content just fine. In fact there's a high population of players on lordaeron who are specifically casuals because they didn't know they could set exp rates on icecrown down to x1 and thus chose lordaeron to "enjoy taking their time". Obviously, this isn't recommended, but there are plenty of players like this on Lordaeron. And funnily enough, they're doing just fine at endgame. If they don't touch raids there's practically no difference for them.

Also regarding exp rates; Lorda players can also adjust their Exp rates to either 1x or 0.5x, so it's technically adjustable there as well (if you're a masochist)

Is fast food the best because it is most popular?

Compare to fine dining where people are willing to wait longer or pay more.

Icecrown is more popular because it is fast and easy and you can buy gear, and there is a high turnover rate of numerous casual players.

Yes you can faceroll to 80 and clear raids quickly then stand around in Dalaran, or have a more challenging and immersive experience where people care more and have more time and effort invested. The OP certainly did not sound like a casual player looking for an easy go of it. To each their own.

lordaeron is just slower/harder than icecrown thats all, everything else just kind of the same. sure u cant buy gear on lordaeron, but u can buy geared characters. so potato potata

I dont want to sound like its a negative against one or the other but I will try to explain the differences I see.

x7 xp = less need to be out in the world questing and grouping up and less time doing lower lvl dungeons, its a faceroll to 80 if thats how u want it.
x3 profs = similar issue compounding with less demand on lower level materials and it changes the entire way skills and professions are leveled up.
x3 gold = much less care about gold and the items or skills and things that revolve around this large part of the game.
Easier PvE = the typical rush to 80 and having raids on farm mode gets old and some players like or want more of a challenge.

As for the gear I think that speaks for itself, many ppl obviously want to be able to buy items, whereas some would not want to play on a realm where that is possible.

I still like my analogy of Icecrown is like fast food, and Lordaeron is like fine dining.

dont get me wrong, i love Lordaeron, its my first choice when i play here on warmane cz of that exact no gear shop reason, had so much fun and made alot of friends back when it was actually god tier realm, those times where it has queue like icecrown, many people were into pvp, where u have to run and gather up to dungeons cz no rdf at all, and people were actually inspecting each other rather than using gs measures , maybe it was the hype thing, but it was great. Lordaeron now is just not that great anymore.
its still great, its a chill realm, especially if u value the journey over destination. u can learn the game fundamentals like classes more indepth, especially if u're new, u'll still find alot of like minded people.
but now people have already farmed endgame, people buy and sell their geared characters on trade, its like u pay for other people work to skip the progression, so for me theres no different with buying gears straight from shop on icecrown anyway.

Anub'arak has 750k on lordaeron, 500k in icecrown and classic
Eregos has 5 million, 3.8m on icecrown and classic.

Icecrown is literally the same as the original, and Lordaeron is so much similar to original because of x1 exp rates available on both realms? That's silly.
The reputation, professions and gold rates are all mundane changes, usually most welcomed.
The raids on icecrown are the closest to retail like than anything else.

Everyone who plays on Lordaeron ends up either staying or leaving to icecrown because they want the original experience and thus you can level x1 on Lordaeron, realize the pug scene is non-existant and then go to icecrown and level up 7x faster and just stay on icecrown.

Also "clearing raids quickly" isn't something everyone does, it's a common occurence from the top guilds that don't like progression and have been grinding WOTLK content with the same people for the last 15 years. Those who are new join progressive guilds and progress the content.

-Exp rates are adjustable but yes, having enforced x1 exp means it's a hurdle ALL players must endure and thus the teamwork and leveling aspect is still there to some degree.
-Exp rates don't mean ****, you'll still log your 2nd account, hop on your lvl 80, spam clear RFC->SFK->SM->ZF->Stratholme->HFR->Mana Tombs-> UGK->Oculus to get to 80, how most people power level alts with heirlooms. Yes it takes longer, yes it's more of a grind, but it's infinitely faster than getting griefed while leveling doing quests and having unpunished troll 80s causing zone disruptions.
Leveling on a x1 exp pve server with rules that enforce a smooth and fun leveling environment? People love it
Leveling on a x1 exp pvp server with no rules and actively encourages griefing and an extensively long road to end game? People hate it.

That's why nobody plays on lordaeron vs icecrown. Nobody likes leveling while being forcefully ***-fked by lvl 80s 1-shotting them, and having to deal with that for 7x as long is undesired by anyone.

Agreed, the concept that Lordaeron isn't pay2win is at this point null and void, as the character trading is quite literally the same as the cash shop.
The real reason to play on one or the other is having extremely buffed content.

Lordaeron is still worth it if you think it's something you'd want.

Honestly put, if you're new to Warmane, I recommend Icecrown to test things out. If you like it, give Lordaeron a shot.

This is solid advice, the OP said they are a long time player on Warmane and they are tired of playing on Icecrown.

Lordaeron is still worth it and very good I would say far superior. Again to each their own..

Lordaeron is tighter, tends to be more serious, to serious imo, icecrown is more loosened up, a bit crazy, but crowded everywhere, dungeons, raids, pvp in any form happens on a daily here, can't tell that for sure about Lordaeron, especially mid-game due to low population and the most people in this tight community already being endgame, so my advice would be:

Lordaeron for the best experience of the game, play it with a group of friends, solo imo not worth it

Icecrown best solo experience, more community, you can squeeze your way in every dungeon and most normal, and some hc raids

There is people in almost every zone

Also Icecrown is loaded with guilds who do daily runs, so when it comes to farming, you will (likely) always have a spot if you meet the requirements

2023? I'd pick Icecrown for sure
