I made this patch that increases the resolution of 2D portraits from 64x64 to 256x256. It's better especially if you play with a high UI scale, have a high resolution monitor, or both.

I have updated the first post with a new version that doesn't crash in Onyxia (I had not noticed this until now).
I am also providing here the patch itself in text format in case you want to apply it to your already modified wow.exe file. You can apply it with a hex editor such as HxD.
- In offset 218F6C, replace 6A 02 6A 40 6A with E9 7C FB 30 00
- In offset 528AED, replace CC CC CC CC CC CC CC CC CC CC CC CC CC CC CC CC CC with 6A 02 68 00 10 00 00 68 00 10 00 00 E9 74 04 CF FF
