how in the heck do i get addons to work?
Download, Unzip, place in World of Warcraft 3.3.5a (no install)\Interface\AddOns or \MOP\Interface\AddOns and login to the game, click addons at the bottom left, enable them, click load out of date then login the game.
Make sure the addons are for version 3.3.5 though - you can find most of what you need here:
