Denial of Service Hacks in Battlegrounds

It was made aware to me that people can disable your character in battleground and its happened to me 3 times this week. This includes darkening the hotbar, disabling movement and the ability to type in chatbar or cast spells. This results in your team afk reporting you and having you removed from the bg. They also have the ability to just kick you out of the battleground without deserter buff. How is this happening and why me?

My question: Is there anything I can do or the warmane staff can do to prevent these denial of service hacks?
A second question: Is it possible that this is caused by something other than hacking?

Just to reiterate these are the issues i had: Darkened hotbar icons, disabled movement, disabled chatbar, ejected from battleground instantly in combat.
