    Balance Issue:"Perception" Passive for Humans

    Hello,

I've noticed that the Human race on this server has a passive racial ability called "Perception", which increases the detection of stealthed units like rogues and druids.

    > This racial ability (originally called "Perception") was removed by Blizzard in patch 2.3.0, well before WotLK.

In official Wrath of the Lich King 3.3.5a, this ability does not exist — it was replaced with "Every Man for Himself", the PvP trinket racial.

Having this passive in WotLK creates a significant PvP imbalance:

Rogues and druids (especially from the Horde side) are at a clear disadvantage in stealth-based gameplay.

No Horde race has any racial ability that counters stealth or provides similar detection.

I kindly ask the server team to:
    1. Consider removing this ability to maintain version-accurate PvP balance.

    2. Or provide an official explanation if its presence is intentional.

I also hope that the Horde community will support this concern and confirm that this racial ability creates an unfair advantage in many PvP situations.

Thanks for your attention and fairness

I checked 2.3.0 patch notes and they had no mention of such changes. They did have some racial changes, but none of them affected Perception. However, googling the spell itself and opening up wowpedia gives following results:

    Patch 4.0.1 (2010-10-12): Removed.
Patch 3.0.2 (2008-10-14): Now a passive that increases stealth detection by 5 points, equivalent to 1 level.
Patch 1.8.0 (2005-10-10): Perception is now usable while stealthed.
Patch 1.4.0 (2005-04-19): Increased detection bonus.
    Patch 1.1.0 (2004-11-07): Added.

Also the arguement that other classes are at disadvantage as a result is ever so slightly ridiculous, as every single racial has it's advantages, which other races don't receive. Such as this one.

What are the chances this bloke asked chatgpt if Perception existed in 3.3.5, got back the erroneous information that it was removed in 2.3.0, and then came here to open this thread?

    Probably quite high...

People have been complaining for years that Every Man for Himself is way overpowered and out of nowhere someone comes with a made up complain about something else that never happened...

You're right that Perception was made passive in 3.0.2 and removed in 4.0.1 — I appreciate the correction.
My concern is not about whether it's "officially part of 3.3.5a", but rather whether it creates an unfair imbalance in PvP, especially when compared to other racials that have more situational effects.
I'm not demanding a removal — just opening discussion and asking the staff if it's something they consider tuned for this server's environment.

It's due to bias. When things don't work the way they want it to work, they start to find excuses, in this case, human racial(s). Funny how no one complains about removing troll or orc racials for pve, after all, weirdly enough some people in 2025 still compete in PvE as well lol. And yes, the human "trinket" still existed in original wotlk back in the days, regardless, it's a matter of preferrence if u choose to have it or not.. each race has their own "perks", choose the one that fits you and play... or stay in a bubble, find excuses and expect others to make everything the way you fantasize it to be. Next thing you know, there will be someone asking to remove all level 80s from a faction completely so that they can gank lower levels peacefully without interference lmao.

    2. Or provide an official explanation if its presence is intentional.
It's completely intentional, as it was never removed like you tried to claim and was part of the expansion.
