As you might have noticed after the most recent restart on our Wrath of the Lich King realms, Icecrown and Lordaeron, we enabled the function of SoloQueue. This enables you to queue as a single player and the system will match you up with two other players and allow you to step into the 3v3 environment right away without having to spend time finding allies that share the same convictions as you.
Players of the Blackrock realm are familiar with the system and it has been one of the most popular ways to play PvP for years so we are convinced that players that dabble in PvP will enjoy it on Icecrown and Lordaeron. We are running it as a trial period on both of these realms and based on the feedback on the realms and within this thread, we will decide whether it will remain as a permanent feature. This does not mean the disappearance of the 5v5 bracket, as players who want to play 5v5 will be able to simply opt out of the system and all features, including the NPC used for queing, will be entirely invisible.
Details:
Composition: 1 Healer - 2 DPS
Crossrealm enabled. All players queing will have access to all players on all three of our WoTLK realms.
Arena points earned are equivalent to 2v2 amount. Similarly, the game will behave like you are in a 2v2 regular team, therefore in order to obtain items that require a certain 3v3 rating, you will actually have to play in a regular 3v3 team.
DuoQueue: If you already have a friend, both of you can queue up as a party and in moments you will be fighting in a challenging environment.
The system requires you to be geared up and ready for arena.
We will take all relevant feedback seriously, so voice your opinion here in the thread, it will be the deciding factor whether this will become a permanent feature.
Actually something that IC needed, anyway 5v5 was nothing but wintrade, quite happy with being able to do SoloQ when boredom hits
We are, of course, keenly aware of this. However, we did not want to remove an essential feature in the game. The core philosophy of custom additions on our realms is that those who do not want to participate in them can simply turn them off and everything related to it will be absent from the game for those players that do not want it.
So those, although we really don't think the number of such players is big at all, that dont't want it, can simply ignore it.
very nice to see such a think on icecrown, you should consider making it onle queable with minimum 800 resil or smth like that because this will end up with 1 hit heros
This is something we are already considering. We would like to collect some data and see how it goes without it. All constructive feedback, such as this, will be considered seriously. This is why we are running it as a trial.
But as someone said before, you have to implement a Resilence Cap or sth. Pve People, especially when you have a PVE healer in your Team is 100% Lose.
Its really boring with these PVE Healers :(
I can not join a ICC 25 HC raid with my 1200 resil too.

There are some specs however that are legit viable at less or lesser Resilience (Prot Warrior comes to the mind)
Is the some kid of "lower bracket" for lets say furious set geared players like it is in BGs? It would not be fair for lowbies to be queued against full bis players that are playing for fun. I recomend implementing 3 gear brackets:
1) a lowbie bracket (furious set) or equivalent
2) others - relentless / wrathful set
3) 2x shadowmourne dps teams (or even a single lolmourne dps)
just make lolmourne teams go against each other, please dont let the plague enter soloque

I think it should be implemented only where it is class and spec relevant. For an example, adding a minimal resilience requirement will completely shut off glass-cannon specs such as protection warriors which cannot (properly) function without a certain amount of PVE stats. Anyhow, amazing job with the implementation and keep up the great work!
