Hello there!
I haven't played WotLK in years, and decided to try it once again, since Cata is a bit boring until they open the dungeons.
I'd like to roll a shaman, but first I tought I might ask you guys about it's performance. Please, don't start with things like "lol you want a faceroll start a pally". Just tell me, please, the class pros and cons compared to other dps and healers. It is known that in some patches some classes get a notable disadvantage (like warriors in 4.3.4), and I'd like to know what should I expect.
I couldn't find much (trustworthy) information about Enh when I was looking, so I'll share my relatively brief experience with the spec. I've been playing Enh shammy for PvP on wrath for a month or so now. 5.3k gs so I'm starting to feel the real perks of the class. Everybody says it takes a ton of skill, but I've never thought I was an exceptional player and I'm doing pretty well, I think. Most importantly though, I have a ton of fun. Windshear, ghost wolf, totem bubble (stoneclaw totem), instant heals, and instant root on a 5 second CD makes for a ton of fun. I'm still gearing but already having more fun than on my nearly full wrathful destro lock.
In terms of PvE, I've only done a few raids (VoA mostly), but I can do pretty decent damage with my PvP gear and spec, and have yet to have anyone call me out on it. The few other enh shamans I have seen were mostly low geared people who will likely soon switch to ele, but I have encountered a few well geared enh shammys in PvP (Usually on the ally side) who basically owned everyone and seen one 5.2k PvE Enh that pulled around 6k dps in VoA. Basically, it's a lot of fun and can be good, despite what people say.
